I know he catches a lot of heat but he had a good game last night.

2/3 with 2 singles and a walk. He had a nice hit and run during the rally in the eighth. The tag out at home wasn't his fault. It was actually closer than I expected. It was a shallow fly to center which I said "he's going to be out" as soon as I saw they sent him.

He was one of 2 guys that got on base 3 times (Smith - 3 walks).

He's got to be one of the slowest guys in the lineup. I get they were trying to be aggressive, but how in the hell do you send him there?

Props though for getting on base consistently last night.

We especially need the role players to come through when the big hitters cool off.

Good job, Beau.

He didn't get the run in when he had the opportunity with less than 2 outs. He did make up for it with his hit in the 8th.

I think the call to send him was 100% correct. They forced the center fielder to make a perfect throw (which he did) and the catcher to receive the ball (which he did) and lay down a good tag (which he did). If any of those things are not perfect Jordan scores. Miss St executed perfectly. Tip you hat to them. We made them execute and they did.

The call was correct, it just should have been a damn pinch runner instead.

It wasn't a perfect throw though. It was a good throw, but a little to the right. Anybody even the slightest bit faster would have scored there. The 100% correct call was to pinch run for Beau after the single

I agree. If any one of those steps is just slightly off, Jordan scores the tying run in a game where runs were at a premium. Hindsight is always 20/20, but I don't think it was a bad move to send him

There are guys batting worse than him in the lineup. Also I still think he beat the tag at the plate. I would love to see a frame by frame of that play!

That center fielder could make that throw 10 times and only be that perfect once. Glad to see us still rally after that!

Let's get em today and lunch our ticket to Omaha!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!

He didn't beat the tag. His lead hand slid into the catchers foot in front of the plate when the tag came down. He was out

Saying Beau is one of the slowest players in the lineup is no great slight against Beau. This lineup is very fast. Beau and Bryce are both exceptional baserunners.

Should there have been a pinch runner? Probably, but Beau's hit and run in the 8th was a big part to the 4 run rally, so if another guy comes in and doesn't get that hit we lose.

And? He had a questionable hit and didn't hit the ball hard once. Zack crushed the ball 3x and only got on twice. I would say Zach had a much better game.

Great hut and run call by CPM. Knowing he would get cutter low and away and making him just put the ball in play was a great call...no hit and run and he tries to pull the ball and misses by a foot.

Definitely not his fault he got rung up. I was surprised at how close the play was considering how well thrown and shallow that ball was. I still think the "pinch runner" argument is valid, but he definitely made the debate more fun with that clutch hit next time up.

For someone who had been striking out and "swinging at everything ", he's looked great out there lately.

Who disagrees that PM should have put in a pinch runner for Jordan in this situation? IMO this is a no brainer. That said, leaving Jordan in the line up did pay off in the 8th.
