It seems like as the hair builds in the razors it affects the quality of shave
Not to be another one of those guys, but this really isn't a problem with a double edge razor. That's my favorite thing about them. So I'll say no- four blades isn't better than a pair of single blades facing opposite directions.

Any of you guys flip your blade?
No but I do flip my toilet paper, it is amazing how long it lasts when you use both sides

I'm still experimenting. Got the Perfecto DE, badger brush and stand set off of Amazon, I have used that with Wilkinson Sword and Shark blades. I also bought a Edwin Jagger 89 (comparable to the Merkur 34c) and have it loaded with a Feather Stainless. Also have a Semogue 620 boar brush that works GREAT with the Williams Shave Soap puck.
I still need three passes, though. I vary up the pre-shave and the cream/soaps.
Shaving every two days, and it's addictive.

This is my issue. I go back and forth between gillette and DE. I prefer DE, but Gillette is much faster.

My main double edge razor is a Merkur long handle. I think you can pick up one of those for about $40. Feather blades are the sharpest. I use those 90% of the time. I bought 100 of them about 3 years ago, and I have about 40 left from that. I have over 200 Turkish Derby blades that I don't use as often because Feather get the job done a lot better for me.

I've been looking at these safety razors for a while now. Tired of spending the money on the Gillette multi-blade stuff. My neck breaks out pretty easy because of ingrown hairs around a few jagged scars on my neck (had a meeting with a windshield about 12 years ago). Will one of these safety razors still be good for me or will it slice the high points off the scars too easily?

If you didn't let each of your facial hairs that are a quarter inch apart grow 2 inches long, you wouldn't have to worry about clogged blades.

In open spaces yes but not in the nooks and crannies.

Treat them like you would a mole or pimple etc. yes a good DE like a feather or Kai would shave that shite off if you were an idiot and not paying attention.

I've tried them all. The only I find acceptable is Good News/Sensor 2 from Gillette.
The multiblade ones also make it difficult to reach the wiskers under my nose.

Schick Quattro are good cartridges as well. I like them better than fusion. They are still over priced but about 1/3 less over priced.
Use them when I am lazy. Error. It's a Hydro not Quattro. A Hydro with green Proraso soap is as slick as owl shite.

I'm not sure how much benefit there is for each additional blade you add, but I find the flexible movement in the Gillette Fusion ProGlide to be much better for shaving around the neck and jaw line. It's got a swivel head that works kind of like the Dyson Ball vacuum.

I've never used a safety razor but odds are you'll get hacked up. I have to avoid a scar on my upper lip with a straight razor and come back to it with a regular disposable. It's just impossible to shave near it without cutting it.

I gave up on Multi blade razors a couple years ago and went to a Merkur DE safety razor and Merkur blades. Smoothest shave I've ever had, less irritation, and less blood.
Also, for all you fellers who suggested PRORASO shave soap...That shite is the best! Works up a hell of a lather...no need for any cream...that is da bomb!
