Campaign, multiplayer, online, what got you hooked?

Mine starts with Halo. The first time I ever played Halo: C.E. I loved that style of game. So when I first got my own Xbox, Halo 2 came out not to long after. Having only ever played lan party games, XBL was a whole new world for me. Capture the flag was my jaaaaam! Zanzibar was my favorite map. I was terrible when I first started playing but eventually reached above average. My personal favorite moment was no-scoping a flag carrying passenger out of a Warthog on blood gulch to clinch a victory. I suck with snipers so for me it was glorious.

Never had I played a game that gave me so much enjoyment and rage from moment to moment. It was addicting. I played more Halo 2 multiplayer than I have all other Halos combined. Made friends that I have until this day. Halo 2 will always be my boo.

Destiny is a close second. Lot's of fun, not as much rage(thank goodness, getting too old for that). Met lots of folks from this board. All in all great gaming experience.

What you got?

I'd have to go with two simply because my taste in games has shifted so much since I was 13-16. When I was younger, COD MW was a pretty much every day thing and to say I didn't love it would be disingenuous.

I think my overall favorite experience though would be my first play though of Witcher 3.

Witcher 3 for single player was literally the first game I had ever played all night until I would make myself go to bed, think about all day at work and play asap when i got home.

Multiplayer, would have to be either Halo or COD world at war (first game I played with friends not on LAN or split screen).

Destiny's early multiplayer before they fricked it all up was great too.

Some of my best childhood memories are staying out with my older brother and his friend playing Halo 2 on a TV we found in the dumpster. Lol our friend's dad owned a barbershop so we used to stay in there til 4 AM playing quite a bit during the summer. Had the cops come ask us what the heck we were doing a couple times haha.

Also the guitar hero series (mainly 1-3) took up a ton of my time during middle school. I actually entered a couple local tourneys and dominated.

Half Life 2 was also amazing.

Campaign would have to be The Last Of Us. Story was spectacular, scenery astonishing, different perks to build up on and a variety of weapons and ways to kill/get by.

Multiplayer would be BlOPS. I logged many an hour into this game. Beat the story mode, countless zombie hours and completely dominated online. Opponents dreaded seeing we were on different teams in S&D.

Halo 2 in the freshman dorms over the LAN was about the best gaming experience I had. I know it isn't exactly specific experience, but there was nothing more fun than having people to play Halo with 24/7.

Best campaign experience was easily The Last of Us.

Halo 3 was pretty big for me and my crew, put a ton of hours into it when I was younger. Destiny almost scratched that itch but crucible just wasn't the same. Goldeneye with my dad will always be a bright spot as well, only game he really ever played with me.

Single player too many games to just point out one but Final Fantasy X really started my love for RPG's.

Meridian 59. One of the first graphical pvp games to come out. Was so much fun at that time.

Hitman 2 playthrough comes to mind. One of the few times my parents called me out on how much gaming I was doing.

My friend bringing his 360 over and we plowed through to playthrough's of RE5 in one weekend.

Every Halo lan party ever, be it 4 or 16 players.

Junior year of college, I lived in a townhouse with five roommates. Whenever four of us were home, somebody would tell FAMILY TIME and we'd rush to the living room to play Super Smash Brothers. If we had 5, whoever would come in last had to give up their controller. One of the controllers was pretty shitty, so it was kind of a side game to try to get a spot with one of the good controllers. One of the roommates would always play as blue Kirby, and all he ever did was try to steal kills. That bastard still signs off as blue Kirby in emails.

Started with Link to the past into the 64 years. Really picked up steam with FFX. Then playing SOCOM 2 online ignited this Shooter phase I went through for years. That phase has slowly died and I enjoy more single player games now.

So I would have to credit SOCOM 2 as my best experience because it lead to many more great experiences. For example The guy who got me into SOCOM was close friends with some former LSU athletes turned pro's and we would often go over to ones house to have halo LAN parties and as a young teen that was awesome.

First time I played an online fps was Quake 2. Pretty incredible and humbling at the same time.

Final fantasy IV and VI, as well as Chrono Trigger are the best RPGs that I've ever played. There are probably better games, but for me, there is nothing better.

The original Worms on original playstation in the 90's.

A bunch of us would start and end our nights of clubbing with that game. 4 of us at a time, no teams, our girls and pickups would get all into it too. So roughly 8 hours per weekend day/night we would play (5pm-9pm and then roughly 3am-7am).

Such an apparently simple, cheap ($20), and primitive even for its' time, silly worms shooting at each other game. Yet we all looked forward to crowding around the coffee table, packing onto the couch, cheering and jeering each other while drinking and smoking out. Good times.

Staying over at friends' house when the N64 was released. We would stay up all night playing Super Mario 64 and Pilotwings. Same for Chrono Trigger when it was released.

I also remember playing Tibia with friends on multiple computers in the house.

All of my best experiences are from when i was a child.

Super mario bros- first game i ever had and played nights on end trying to beat it.

Original zelda- we used to keep my cousins nes at my grandmas and everytime i stayed over there i would play zelda.

Super tecmo bowl- i remember playing this on christmas eve at my grandmas with my cousins several years. Good times

Sonic 2- got the sega when i was in 5th grade and i played sonic 24/7.

Bill walsh college football 95- this is my alltime favorite game and has the best memories. Used to have friends come over every evening after school and play,me and my cousins would play every weekend and holidays at my grandmas. And if i remember correctly it was the first college fb game where you could go through the season, and rankings and i lived in that playing mode.

Last but not least, daytona usa on sega saturn- my dad wasnt a gamer but he loved racing and would play daytona usa with me every night when he got home from work. We had some good battles
