i think those supporting the black candidate are just trying to rally around this alleged racism that led to their loss and create dissension with the new mayor

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. All of these idiots are just trying to make a name for themselves. They are hoping to get national recognition for their bullshite.

I don't think Lafitte was associated with slavery at all. I mean not one iota. And the legend is that his (contraband) treasure (no slaves included) is buried in the bayou, hence the name "Contraband Bayou". Literally nothing to do with slavery at all.

Wait, slavery was illegal then?

And what a miserable person this must be. Everything in life must trigger her. You have to be a racist POS yourself to even attempt to make these connections.

If you don't water the Progressive Racial Outrage daily it will die, and we can't have that. To keep the hatred and suspicion in Full Bloom we have to water it and tend it and keep it alive and make sure that there is always conflict and division. The " no justice " part is a scam- the " no peace" part reveals their true intentions.

i know mary morris

she was all in for carter

they pushed HARD to make the election about race. what's funny is the early vote was dominated by Nic Hunter, and Carter and his supporters got out a ton of their community to early vote. so that means they got a lot of black people to early vote, and many of those black people did not even vote for Carter

they don't even have a "black mandate" and look completely foolish trying this stuff

As a kid growing up I use to play in a soccer tournament in Lake Charles called the Lake Charles Contraband Classic. Does it still exist? If so I'm sure my little ones will be playing in it soon.

the further we get away from slavery the more offended each generation becomes. It's their crutch and they will be damned to not hang on to it

Just another case of people who are ignorant of history trying to dictate to others how they should feel about something when they don't know what the frick they're talking about.

i don't even think it's ignorance

this is simply people looking for any opportunity or avenue to push racism, and then using the ignorance and emotional nature of their constituents against them by confusing them as to what these actions mean. it's manipulation and the leaders who do this know this 100% and are scum for doing it

well im triggered by the pyramids in egypt bc they were made by slaves. lets dismantle

As one who would have preferred to leave the monuments as they are but understands where the other side is coming from, this is such an illogical "argument."

The pyramids are an archaeological site built by slave labor.

These monuments honor/venerate men who fought for states' rights to continue the practice of slavery
