Not much of a liquor drinker, mostly beer and wine. Tequila being an exception.
However, while in Barbados over the winter my chef got me hooked on a rum drink for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Rum
Simple Syrup
Lemon juice
Orange Juice
Angostura bitters
St. Nicholas Abbey
Mount Gay Rum

It's been posted twice, but Zaya is the world's best rum.

Leblon makes one hell of a mojito

I'm partial to Bayou Spiced Rum and Black Magic

Zaya is like the dessert where one or two bites is really good. Its the third bite that separates those that like it and those that don't.

The best readily available and affordable rums.
Zaya, Ron Zacapa, and El Dorado 15 Year are great neat or on the rocks.
If I'm mixing or making punch I typically go with Cruzan Dark or Flor de Cana. They're both cheap and have decent taste.
Another one that's cheap that I find delicious is Cruzan Blackstrap.

Another one I'll throw in the mix I've liked many times is Pyrat XO

Havana club (the real thing not the Bacardi knock off)
getting a bottle is a process but it's worth it

When I went to Jamaica I was drinking that Appleton 12 yr on the rocks and it was definitely something I could get used to. I've never tried any other brands though

I'll see your Pyrat XO and raise you an Ron Abuelo Añejo 12 Años Gran Reserva!

Thanks for the responses. I'll have to try the dark spice Cruzan. Have not tried it yet. I also really want to try to the Papa Pilar.
Love me mojito in the summer, which I'm ready for spring.

For the most part, I'm a Bacardi Silver and Diet Coke guy when I drink rum.
My dear departed Gramps drank Lamb's Navy Rum when he was in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII. It was rationed out on the ship daily. I've had it on a few times, and we even drank some at his grave on 1/1/2000. I think they also used it to waterproof the deck of the ship he was on.

If you take a trip to the Appleton Estate you'll get to buy some of their special dark run that isn't sold anywhere in the states. It'll make you never wanna leave. I get a bottle shipped every year from my Jamaican friend for my birthday. It's very expensive but I love it.

Brugal is my favorite
Extra veijo on the rocks with a good Dominican cigar
I just got back from the D.R. today. Brugal was the rum of choice the entire week. I Definitely brought some back with a box of cigars.
