Other than basketball, none of the women's sports are really money generators anyplace

Not trying to be sarcastic, but women's BB is the biggest loser in terms of dollars. I do agree with some others that by hiring someone like Kim Mulky who is a proven winner, the program would come closer to breaking even.

Obviously we get great crowds for gymnastics and softball

This proves that if you put a good product out there, people will come. The problem isn't that people aren't coming. Hell, we fill up the PMAC for gymnastics meets and pack Tiger park every game, but the tickets are just a few dollars apiece. I think season ticket are only $50. Those are 2 popular sports where they could easily increase ticket prices without running people off.

I'm not saying either of those sports will ever turn a profit, but by increasing ticket prices, they could at least lose less.

How about we not concern ourselves with "profitablity"?

In College Sports its irrelevant. College Sports do not exist to make money, as evidenced by the fact that really only one sport makes money in Division I.

Give scholarships to only the hottest of the hot athletes. Then make them wear volleyball shorts with tank tops. Also a swimsuit calendar would help as well.

Most of the girl athletes probably have pics like what I'm proposing on their instagram accounts already. Just pull the pics for the calendars from there.

Why do you feel the need to submit your opinion when you have no knowledge of the topic at hand? To be a member of Division 1, an institution is required to sponsor a minimum number of intercollegiate varsity sports. The minimum is a lot damn more than the four you have suggested.

Require football season ticket holder to purchase tickets to other sports to have access to LSU football tickets

Exactly!
The number used to be 14 sports.........I assume it's still that number. Which gets back to what I'd said in my earlier post.....................collegiate sports do not exist to make money. It just so happens that football makes money as a college sport. If that weren't the case, the NCAA would not require the 14 sports to be Division I. They'd just say,"have enough men and women athletes to fulfill Title IX". So, that leads me to believe that college sports exist for some other reason(s) other than making money........................or in the very least, the NCAA sees some worth of college sports OUTSIDE OF, their money making possibilities.

As LSU fans, we shouldn't be concerned what teams "make money". It's not like its costing us anything anyway, other than the price of a ticket.

Old SNL Weekend Update with Norm MacDonald joke:

In WNBA news, Chicago and Washington DC both added franchises to expand the number of league teams to 14.

Don't get too excited though the players will still be women.

They stink. At basketball. Otherwise it'd be an exciting game, but instead, it makes for a boring game.

Lower the rim to 9'. Women genetically aren't as tall or strong so make the game playable above the rim based on that.

The other sports I got no fricking clue except recruit/offer the best looking/talent ratio girls across the country.

Winning products help no matter what the sport is. Gymnastics and Softball should do well this year.

I wonder how much we're losing because our men's basketball team sucks?!

We can stop forcing schools to prop up money losing activities like women's sports. Though we know that will never happen.
