But I left out one small detail...

quote:

Almost 40 Pitbulls and Pitbull mixes at St. Landry Parish Animal Control are scheduled to be put down on Wednesday.

Trump doing work!

quote:

Alleman said the average dog that comes into her shelter is a male Pitbull. She said the owners typically no longer want them because they are tearing up their fences, getting into the neighbors trash or are too aggressive.

quote:

The problem is, the parish does not adopt out Pitbulls and Pitbull mixes for the most part. She said the dogs become aggressive after being in a kennel for so long.

Any OT pit apologists going to save one of these very good boy not bitey its-the-owner-not-the-breed safety doggos?

As much as pitbulls are hated, it's sad that these animals were brought into this world only to be raised by shite for brain thugs/people who never gave the animal an ounce of love or attention.

I have a "rough" breed mix ,American bulldog, that is 100X nicer and friendlier than our Pomeranian mix.
However, I am aware that I have a nicer one and I still must respect him. Not hard to handle, but you need to know what you're doing.

They need to euthanize the shitty people that just let their dogs breed and have no intention of keeping them.

Donate to soup kitchens. Win/win.

Dog meat is a delicacy in many countries.

This should be the solution to most nuisance animal issues, like wild hogs.

Offer a tax deduction to donate wild hogs to soup kitchens.

So are these dogs open for adoption or not?

Doesn't matter what the breed is, it is a shame that so many animals are killed every year because owners are too cheap & lazy to fix them.

I have seen dogs of all breeds be put down because they are aggressive after being mistreated by shitty owners or they become aggressive after "living" at the shelter.

Our two labs got out last saturday and disappeared. Turned out some well meaning rescue lady rescued them right out of our neighborhood and across the county. We were glad to get them back yesterday. However, in going to look at the local county shelter what we saw was that almost all the dogs there were pit bull mixes or pitbulls. Virtually any other kind of dog had been taken by "rescue groups".

None of those pitbull dogs is going to get adopted more than likely and all will wind up dead by end of week. Sad really.

I've never understood people who think this. I'm of the opinion that a good owner can help make them not violent, but they are, by nature, an aggressive breed

Already saved one from the Jefferson Parish shelter. I'm glad I did it.

Yes, as someone who now has one because my SO brought him into the relationship when he moved in...He is definitely Pit-Mix. Very shy, loves us tremendously. Doesn't like children. I am not quite sure how he was handled as a young pup. But he is a good dog to US. I do not let him near kids or other dogs, ever. He looks like mostly a 25/25/25/25 Pit, hound, boxer, mutt mix, but his nervousness does not translate well to the outside world. I respect that because he was adopted from a possibly bad world. We give him love and he gives it back. I am aware enough to know what situations are not meant for him.

The dogs being put down, that really sucks. Because stupid people train willing animals to be....animals, not pets.
