Anyone too stupid and/or too lazy to get a simple ID does not need to be voting in the first place.

We need to have a nationwide database of all US citizens to check against state voter rolls. It's a travesty this doesn't already exist. Also mandatory implementation of the Real ID.

Holy frick. Is this for real? You want to include a swab of your DNA and a list of your firearms as well? fricking big gov't conservatives all over the board now that Trump is in office.

So you are against the Government having a database containing a list of all US citizens that are legally eligible to vote?

Explain your thoughts on who should be able to vote in American elections and what systems should be in place to verify the identification of those voting.

In the Legislation they should write that each county equip a 'Voter ID Van' with the capability to drive to the houses of the County residents and register them to vote by appointment and hand out free IDs.

BamaAtl would still be against it.

Wow. That's some serious racism.

You're basically saying all minorities and poor people are too stupid to get a state-issued ID.

What will happen in place like Alabama where the corrupt state government chose to close local satellite offices in order to restrict certain demographics from voting? That is probably ok because Repulicans wish to disenfranchise American citizens from voting.

Do YOU think it is because they are not capable of getting an ID to vote when they need an ID to do any number of things in our society?

One, you are changing the subject from voter ID to voting offices because you dont wish to discuss voter ID and feel that you have a more stable foundation to argue from with voting offices. Two, if you have proof to back up your claims of corruption, please share

Jesus Christ. Can you be any more racist with your views? Why don't you go ahead and let us know just how stupid and helpless minorities are? I get so tired of people like you portraying minorities (specifically black people) as incapable of doing anything for themselves and by their very existence being dependent on someone else.

The two are linked. Which is why they are discussed together.

Are you serious? Bentley just sent the Strange to the Senate in exchange for a "pause" in his ethics investigation. If that is not corruption, then what is sir? Didn't see Drain the Swamp Trump tweet about that.

1. We have no widespread and large amount of voting fraud in the US. When state and local election officers start reporting it, I will start believing it.

2. We have had, since 2009 a choreographed effort by Republicans in many states to suppress minorities and students and some urbanites by restricting voting hours and places as well as limiting registration times and places. Also, many legitimate voters names have been purged from rolls in certain precincts.

Dont think it should be an EO. He should meet with members of congress and work with them to get the bill started and push it to become a law.

The state of Texas did just that, placing them in areas where people lived whom the courts believed would be impacted most by voter ID.

Guess what?

quote:

One of the efforts the (Texas) Department of Public Safety is making to boost (2014 voter) turnout doesn't seem to be working.

DPS is responsible for issuing election identification certificates, but not many people are getting them.

Since Texas's voter ID law went into effect last year, DPS started setting up mobile stations around the state to process election identification certificates or EIC's.

Since the program started last June, less than 200 people have signed up to get an EIC statewide.
----------
The only one open in our area (Waco) this time around is in Falls County (large poor black population) and they haven't had anyone come in.

200 people get free ID at 13 statewide stations

And THIS:

I bet if a law was passed that said that everyone that received government assistance needs a government-issued ID, every minority and poor person in this country would find a way to get one.

It is amazing that illegal aliens can get IDs, but American minoriities and poor cannot do so in order to vote.

We have organizations that bus these same groups to vote. Have them bus them to get an ID.

That is a talking point, not anywhere close to a fact. It's just not true, and if you'd set aside political party identity, you'd realize it isn't.
