So can't you use a phone to check how your name is listed beforehand?
and you can also request a copy of birth certificates and other things necessary to change or alter it.
For free? What state allows this?

They asked for a list of IDs used more commonly by black voters than white voters, then crafted the law to disallow those IDs.
What are you basing that on? What do you mean by "ID's used more commonly by black voters"??? Like what?
Your claim is that they "asked for a list of IDs used more commonly by blacks".
What are you basing that on?

North Carolina recently lost a court case on just this subject. Seriously, you're ignorant about that and you think you have an informed opinion?!

So if your house burns down, or you're robbed, or you're homeless and lose them...you don't get to vote?
How American of you.

Bama ATl, you have some crazy hypothetical for every little reason don't you?
Posted on 2/12/17 at 8:55 pm to ChexMix
At 18 years old they should register for the draft, vote and be issued an ID if they do not possess a valid drivers license. Hell I am all for a voters picture ID card.
Try to buy a hunting license if you are over 16 and no ID.

Perhaps the name on your ID doesn't match the name on the voter rolls because of a clerk's error, and you no longer have the supporting documentation.
You're really trying too hard.
Couldn't that same situation apply regardless of race? Matter of fact, because of percentages of population, they should happen more frequently in whites.

I have some situation that's actually happened as a good reason to not enact a policy that we know isn't necessary in this country.
In-person voter fraud (the kind stopped by voter ID) is not a problem. When you're disenfranchising people to stop a fake problem, that's beyond stupid. When you're targeting that disenfranchisement to minorities, that's racist.

oh, so it never really happened. Just more fake news?
Good point.

You're a racist. You only talk about race

Don't you guys care about wasting money, or is that only during Democratic administrations?
quote:How do you even quantify the potential to disenfranchise someone? You cant.
As many per county/district as to ensure that no individual is potentially disenfranchised.

You're losing this badly, so now you hint at changing the subject.

There is no valid reason not to have a photo ID. There is very little (besides vote) that you can do of any consequence in this country without a photo ID.
ID can be easily acquired and it has been made as easy as possible to get it. No one is trying to keep anyone from voting. They ARE trying to keep them from voting more than once or for the dead and ineligible to cast ballots.
It cannot be disputed that it is happening, only the frequency. And an honest investigation will answer that.

This court case
No real need to read more than this:
"The scurrilous attempt by North Carolina Republicans to suppress the rising power of black voters was struck down on Friday by a federal appeals court that concluded that the state’s voting strictures “target African-Americans with almost surgical precision.”
Nothing sounds bias in those opening remarks!
Thats it??? 1 case that that claimed racism?? Thats it?
This is run of the mill legal vagaries.
A court ruled it so there ya go? Numerous courts have ruled against gay marriage...you fight for them?..courts..actually SCOTUS has ruled, in the past, that slavery was a "right"...would you support that? You're providing little more than the Appeal to Authority Fallacy.

Non Sequitur. How does North Carolina negate all the other states or establish the only valid reasoning for ID laws?? Voter ID requirements have been upheld in other states by...wait for it...courts. So you support those...right? I mean..they are courts that ruled that..so..
