Probably left to actually get away from Jennings. I would have too.

I absolutely agree with you. He's a kid and it's his decision to go where he feels most comfortable. Do I want him to come to LSU? Yes. Am I going to pitch a fit and throw him under the bus if he doesn't pick LSU like many "so-called" LSU fans will? No. Truthfully, I think some of the outrageous idiots on this website hurt us in recruiting because of the ignorant statements they post nonstop! It's a football game! Period! Good luck to Travis wherever he decides to go! Geaux Tigers!

If so, he should have acted like it instead of taking a parting shot at LSU on stage. frick him and frick you and your high horse. Go to Clemson. Fine. But don't pull that pathetic, childish bullshite and expect to not be called on it.

Now break it down even further genius. Black people make up roughly 30% of the population there and where do most crimes happen in Jennings? Oh shite!!! Across the tracks!!! You heard him say it live, why he wants to get away. Damn near everything I said in my OP.

Definitely a family member posting. But good stuff. I wish the kid a lot of success, as I do with all recruits.

Stupidity is still deep in Jennings! Mean streets of Jennings! You're a joke. Go back and take a look in the mirror because that is about the weakest arse thread I've ever read.

Every year it always amazes me how fans act when a kid decides to not go to their school. These are 17-18 year old kids who are having big time college football programs coming after them, each one giving their own pitch as to why he should go to their school, etc.

They have to evaluate each situation.. Where will they have the best opportunity? Should they stay close to home so their family can watch them play or should they move away.. And get away from the elements they grew up around (for the ones who grew up in bad areas, not every recruit comes from a bad area). This decision isn't just about the next four years of their life, it goes beyond that. So I really wish people would just stop bashing the kids. Its okay to follow the recruiting commitments, I like to see what type of classes everyone puts together. And I like to keep up on NSD, but I will never get mad, upset, pissed at a kid for doing what he feels is in his best interest.

The people that do need help. I can somewhat let it slide when it's young kids doing it, but it blows my mind when adults do it. I love LSU Football, but it's just a fricking game. There are a lot of bad things going on in the world to get pissed off at. A Louisiana recruit not going to LSU is not one of them.

I agree and you right on the money! You will get downvoted but it's basically LSU's own fault, and these folks get upset and call the kid a trader or turncoat whatever. You explained it best we need realistic fans. We have to fix this ASAP we have to keep our homegrown talented players at LSU. We have to kick Saban's arse out of the state, and start competing with the upper echelon teams for top rated players. I have to quote Forrest Gump" LSU is a household name"

Young man from my home town, just hate this happened, but wish him all the best. From the few contacts I still know he seemed like a responsible person.

Broke the all-time Jennings rushing record that had held for 54 yrs...I was there for that one.

All the experts here seem to think he was "slighted" and that's the reason he chose Clemson. Really sad if you are a recruiter and you saw this young man perform, then I question your skills as a recruiter.

People are taking this out of hand. The guy should have handled the situation better, but he's 17-18 so I can't really fault him. But it's also not LSU's fault either. If you really want to be a tiger it shouldn't matter. They did what they had to do. Now let's move on.

I don't know TE. He's probably a great young man as well as a football player. But your line of argument doesn't pass muster.

If he really wanted to get out of Jennings, then why would he care if he was a fallback plan to us? LSU isn't going to move Jennings farther away. And LSU isn't going to fix the socio-economic conditions in Jennings.

Suggesting our staff (Les or O) was late to the party is just deflection. They're not stupid. They can tell when a prospect simply wants a change in environs. So why would they have pursued a lower rated player who wasn't interested at the expense of a higher rated prospect who showed genuine interest?

Your logic is stupid. You say LSU only offered after Akers Denied coming here. You go do a little homework. If not for Cordarrian Richardson de-commiting from Clemson on December 24, TE would have never picked up a Clemson offer. Either way TE was going to be a fall back player for either LSU or Clemson.
