He is more suited to fit Clemson offense anyway. Clyde is better anyway, plus we still have Ducre and baby buga.

I really wish Juluke would look at Delmonte Hall of North DeSoto. He's committed to Southeastern but he would flip to LSU in a heartbeat! 6'1" 205

You say LSU only offered after Akers Denied coming here

That is true.

If not for Cordarrian Richardson de-commiting from Clemson on December 24, TE would have never picked up a Clemson offer.

That is probably true.

Either way TE was going to be a fall back player for either LSU or Clemson.

Travis had been to the LSU Camps. He was 1.5 hrs away from LSU and was waiting for an offer from LSU. That didn't come until recently. A fall back player for a school 11 hrs away, after winning the National Championship, is more appealing than being a fall back player for your in state school that should be way more familiar with you. LSU screwed this up...Fact.

They just can't go offering scholarships to anyone. I hope the best for the kid, but there's probably a good reason his only two offers are from Southeastern and NWLA.

That's messed up. I would give up college football if it meant being banned from The Rocket hamburgers.

Truthfully, I think some of the outrageous idiots on this website hurt us in recruiting because of the ignorant statements they post nonstop.
There it is again.

NOTHING said on this board full of non-athletes has any effect what so ever on where recruits go or don't go to school.

Yall think Moses and Allen are going to Bama because a few geeks said bad things about them on tigerdroppings.com? If anybody actually thinks that, they've got a few screws lose upstairs and are certifiably delusional.

To think it doesn't have any effect is naive. Not saying it's a major issue, but to have zero at all?

Regardless, I think losing Ettiene is a blessing in disguise. The depth chart will be something to drive home to the best RBs in the country next year.

Clemson put Etienne on the phone with Trey Quinn and he "hammered" LSU. Said it was the worst decision he ever made and that he should have gone to Clemson instead.
This comes from a coach at Jennings High School.

That would make sense if Les was still there.

Sure they did. Can we just admit that Etienne was enamored by the idea of playing for the defending national champions over a team that lost 4 games and move on with life? This is all getting a little ridiculous.

So he took the advice of a player who dropped balls and never took advantage of his opportunities in the big games? Makes sense...

Well he did what he had to do! He is going to Clemson. He handled it his way, I don't know what people wanted him to do pick LSU, the same could be said for LSU the should have offered him along time ago. Good Luck TE a

Please tell me you don't believe that shite. If Quinn should have picked Clemson, why did he transfer to SMU. They don't even play the same position.

He didn't have to take shots at LSU on his way out. Low class. Don't care he left. Best of luck to him. Shouldn't waste another minute talking about him

So a recruit may not come to his state flagship program because a few idiots on a message board posted something he doesn't like? That's the very definition of stupidity.

And also if he thinks this doesn't happen at EVERY major school, then he is not as smart as we are lead to believe....

As long as we can snag a couple of good backs next year, Etienne's decision means nothing to me. Although, he did take a cheap shot at LSU and the coaches who spent the time recruiting him.

"God fearing" but he didn't act like it at his announcement. Good luck to the kid. I hope he succeeds in the future.

And I'll handle my response to his way my way. I'm a fan of LSU. When you mock my school you mock its fans, i.e., including me.

I had no axe to grind with TE. I understand (as do most Tiger fans) that some kids need to "get away" for one reason or another, e.g., Kenny Young to UCLA. But don't introduce this line that he felt jilted because we prioritized Akers.

We prioritized Akers because by all accounts he was a better prospect and had a genuine interest in playing here. Something TE apparently never had - because Jennings was too close to BR.

IMO, our staff handled TE's recruitment just fine: Offer Akers. If he declines, offer TE. Perhaps he will have had a change of heart by then and decide it's ok to stay in state.

In summary, don't blame LSU because you need to leave the state.
