Compensate for small dicks

I made the thread to hear WHY. So do you care to explain?
Why is very easy. Versatility.
With the same vehicle, I can:
drive myself to work and back everyday.
take my entire family comfortably anywhere we go, including long trips.
Tow my boat.
Haul large and heavy items that will never fit in a car.
carry equipment to job sites
pull a trailer that weighs more than my vehicle.
pull someone else out of a ditch
i even drove a truck through flood waters that would have swamped a car to give people a ride to higher ground.
cars can't do those things. my truck does.
and the negatives you mentioned really doesn't apply to anything built in the last 10 years or so.

Honestly, I have thought about it for awhile and I can't see any positive that comes close to outweighing the glaring negatives?
Because I have a need for a vehicle capable of carrying loose cargo and pulling a trailer among other things. It's really simple.

OP is a special kind of stupid. instead of dismissing this as a troll attempt- weak tho it is- he doubled down on it. You just can't fix stupid.

what are the negatives?
You can carry a lot of stuff, never worry about moderate rains, see around cars, and can carry stuff.

I can't pull a gooseneck with a chevy cobalt.

And yet you keep talking about buying an SS Camaro because it looks nice and it's FAST. Wtf is the point of having a fast vehicle with the way the roads are in the US. Are you planning on taking it to a track or something. I'll take literally every benefit a truck gives me over having a car because it's fast. You sound like a child.

Why do people buy/drive trucks?

There really are guys in the south that frown on people that drive cars. Odd bunch just like this PM kid here
I always drove a truck. Sold mine and had friends and cousins tell me they could never not drive a truck because a man just has a truck. One of those guy's wives has told me she wishes I'd teach her husband how to be handy . I have redone flooring, built sheds, built fences, etc. all while not having a truck. Borrowing, renting, or paying for a delivery is much more cost effective than owning a truck for most people. I can do a lot with a trunk, back of an SUV, or roof rack. And the 95% of the other time, I much rather my car (I drive 70+ miles a day).
Now if you own a boat or something like that. And if you truly use your bed that much, it's worth it. I just know a whole bunch of "men" who own "man trucks" who are compensating and it's just for show.

If you have a family with especially young kids who are active it helps. They involved in sports and what not. Hauling dirty equipment when you pick them up from practice or games. Kids have bikes and will no doubt want to go spend time at a friends house and hang out and ride bikes. If you own your own home, you will always have odd job / repairs around your yard and home that needs to be done. You going strap a sheet of plywood to the top of your car or SUV? There are tons of reasons to have a pickup. Even if its not your main ride, it would be beneficial to keep a beat up truck for the stated reasons above.

You don't need a truck if you pay everyone else to do your dirty work

With three kids, I have a Flatbed trailer pulled behind an SUV.

Let me put about 40 rotten logs, an axe, a rusty chain, grease mixed with mud, and about 300lbs with tools in your Prius.
Then, we can cut a hole in the roof to hook up a gooseneck on the back seat

I own a farm, and I hunt and fish.
So, what would you have me drive that fits my lifestyle better than a truck?
Posted on 1/20/17 at 7:42 pm to PrayingMantis
I'm sorry my truck isn't as hip as your Prius
Posted on 1/20/17 at 7:43 pm to DCtiger1
Actually yes and I also do plan on keeping my civic
