I want to buy a small kids bike and helmet and bring my young son along to donate it for a needy child this weekend. Where would be a good place to do this? Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, does the police dept hand out toys? What would be a good, trustworthy organization, and where would I go to actually donate it? Even better if it could go to a flood victim. Merry Christmas!

I don't know, but I built and setup a bike at my BIL's house tonight that he's donating to a local cause.

So they can sell it for profit? Goodwill is crooked.

Contact a local church or police department. They will see that it gets to the right place.

You're right churches and brpd aren't crooked. I'm sure they will handle it.

Local churches will usually know of someone in need. Many charities will actually sell the bike to raise money.
You will sometimes see local police or fire departments ask for bikes and toys to donate.

Go ride around an area that flooded, when you see a kid ask them if they have a bike, if they don't give it to them.

Just go leave it unattended near the Cortana mall area. Someone will pick it up in no time.

Salvation Army Christmas Angels has a tree in the Mall of Louisiana and usually you can go pick a name off the tree. The names have what the kid wants attached. Go find one that has bike listed. The organization usually has people in a kiosk that manages the tree at the mall. Look around the bottom floor, under the food court.

Also, Marine Toys for Tots Baton Rouge, contact... LINK

This effort will benefit LP flood victims predominately.

Thanks for teaching your child humanity!
