A pro-style offense, IMO. Jimbo Fisher's offense or USC's offense under Pete Carroll seem like the best examples of what I'd like to see LSU run.
I know LSU will end up with a spread approach, but it's not my preference. As long as they continue to run the ball with physicality, I'll be happy.

In a perfect world I would like our offense to spread the field with 4 wides and run/pass with the best offenses in the land but I would also like to run out of the I when we have built a good lead and just break their defense with a power running game...bottom line I want to keep the ability to run with power but also be able to spread the field and have a dynamic offense.

Pro power and spread like the Patriots run without a mobile QB and/or the Pro power and spread like the Seahawks use to utilize the mobility of Wilson. I don't like Urban's offense nor to I think the Briles Air Raid style is good for us.

Agree w/ Power Spread like OSU runs.
We are beefy in the middle and explosive on the outside. It's time we started taking advantage of that. If we have dangerous athletes spreading the field on the outside, I have no doubt we will be able to run out of spread formations with 4 wide and single back.

One that would have had #5 & #7 on the field at the same damn time. Two of the top 25 football players in the country and one is on the sideline at all times. Talk about dumb...

This is certainly fun to talk about, in light of both the tremendous amount of talent we routinely see coming through the La. HS ranks. Its also that we as fans are hopeful to finally see our talent utilized properly, and help us win games that we have lost in the past due to poor coaching, development, field discipline, and just overall poor management.
La. always pumps out top notch RBs, great skill athletes with an abundance of speed, and great DLmen. We do seem to be a little thin, at times, at producing QBs, OLmen, and LBs. We are able to utilize enough of the talent we recruit at LSU, to keep top notch defenses, and with a quality coordinator such as Aranda, we should continue prowess on defense.
So, now back to offense... It would be great to run an offense that compliments our defense. Basically, anything other than an Air Raid, would qualify. Considering the caliber of RB we seem to keep getting, we could be / should be, a team that keeps at least a balanced attack, with a downhill type of running game. We do, though, have speed in the WR areas, so utilizing them properly within the passing game would be great. Also, using our speed to stretch defenses horizontally, would be of benefit. It would definitely compliment a good downhill running game, forcing defenses to spread out and play more of an assignment type of defensive football. Using jet and rocket motion would also stress defenders into the point of occasionally forcing a missed assignment, thus leading to a big play. Also, pre-snap movements will tip coaches and a well-coached QB, as it often forces defenses to sort of "tip their hand" before the play is made.
All of this can be done, with a balanced type of tempo. Sure, we could occasionally run a series or two of HUNH offense just to throw a wrench at the defense, but running this throughout an entire game can often cause more problems (lack of rest of our own defense) as much as it helps.
Certainly, developing a productive QB is important. Blending a potent downhill running game, along with perimeter / horizontal stressors, misdirection, etc. can all be done within the confines of a productive passing offense.
I think this is what Matt Canada has been flying high on the radar for many. His QBs are ultra productive, while he utilizes a lot of downhill running, AND end-arounds, fake end-arounds, and other horizontal challenges to the defenses he faces.
It's fun to talk about... Hopefully and prayerfully, Alleva and O will make the right hire.
We as fans, remain hopeful...

They were the number 1 offense in the country. Held to their 2nd lowest total of the year and got beat by almost 30 points.
I'd say that's pretty damn good

For the fans- One that gets the back up QB in the game.
For me-Pro style that spreads the field. A QB that can escape the pocket while looking down field. I don't think a QB running is ideal in the SEC.

Matt Canada offense. True story, when Canada was asked what type of offense he likes to run he replied, "the kind that puts up points." Made me laugh. Basically saying I'll do whatever i have to do to adapt to my players. He has run pro-spread and pro style at different universities and been successful. This dude needs to be hired ASAP!

Count me among the pro style fans. We have the skill players to excel in it, and as we've seen this season, all you need is an average QB in terms of ability.
The key to any offense will be the offensive line. Changing schemes won't hide the fact that our line can't play with Alabama's.
If O wants to impress me, then he'll stop worrying about the various glamour positions as much, and start bringing in some serious studs on the line.
