Matt Canada offense.

Been watching Pitt and NC st highlights since I posted this thread last night. Im in with this.

I wonder if WR recruiting takes a hit if we move to a true spread? I think part of les' recruiting and NFL succes with WRs is because we still ran a pro set with extreme WR blocking. Players look around and see spread teams everywhere, maybe that's a turn off.

No idea, just playing devil's advocate. Les could recruit the hell out of a WR, even though we get very little production from them. I think there is something to that.

my big concern is that O doesn't know what he wants to do. he's a prostyle guy

Why do you think this? I cannot find anything to suggest he is not more about a faster offense.

The day he got the interim job up until about 3 weeks ago, O stated multiple times he wanted a pro style offense like they ran at USC.

I think he 100% has no idea what direction to go in, and just changed to a spread because the political winds were blowing that direction.

I think Canada will transform the offense based on the athletes he has. Like aranda does. So if we have good blocking WRs i bet he would do a lot of guice to the flat in space with wr blocking for him.

I think people get too caught up in specific style. Guys like Kiffin, Canada, and Aranda are all able to adapt on the fly. I think this is the NCAA scheme of the future.

Coaches that can adapt on the fly and still maintain success are highly coveted, and i think that will only get bigger with time. I mean we just paid Aranda damn near $2mil...worth every fricking penny too.

Get Canada in there and we could really have something special on both sides of the ball. Kiffin would work also, but i really don't want him and O back together. Too many bad memories from their times coaching together.

late to the party, but if we get Miles Brennan, USC's pro style offense from '04-'06 is what you will see

I want the power run spread offense... We have a defensive coordinator that can get stops and get the defense off the field..

Meyers offense is perfect for the talent base we have in our state.. Big RB's and bigger OL.. Briles offense is very similiar.. But they throw first, even they have power runs in their spread.. Have a QB that can extend plays with his feet and have very simple quick reads where any idiot can have success.. I cannot for the life of me figure out why colleges dont hire good high school coaches who have run this offense for years.. It is damn near perfected in Texas.. Hell Chad Morris got bored winning 30 straight games avg 60 pts at Lake Travis.. Goes to Clemson and turns them into a power and Dabo gets credit for it..

I want an offense that's capable of playing from behind, flexible enough to react to personnel mismatches and capable of adjustments between up-tempo and ball control, depending on the situation. It also needs to look like a cohesive plan, not like somebody just threw up on a play chart.
