Doesn't sound like it was even put together properly, so I doubt they had someone there doing load calculations

Forget load calcs. These things are no different than church fair carnival rides... they simply get taken apart and put back together at various races accross the country. This outfit goes around and conducts these races in various cities.

There should be a capacity. At some point that structure should have been load-rated, and a capacity established. Put someone on the front and back of it with walkie talkies and don't let more than so many on it at a time.

This is not hard.

Daniel said shortly before 4 p.m. that officials with the State Fire Marshal's Office were on their way to the scene. The structure does not appear to have been permitted through that office, but should have been, he said.

Well, nice knowing ya, Warrior Dash and Red Frog Events.

So they use the same structure over and over again? Nobody sees a problem with doing that with wood? They are some major morons if so

If they used the same wood over again, then they really have no business putting on these events

That doesn't look hard to do at all. Do people just sign up for this stuff to sound macho in front of their friends?

That, and the whopping 1% of the proceeds that got to St. Jude. It's just a money grab. Don't forget the selfies for Facebook.

If they had this as one of the obstacles they deserved to get sued and run out of business. That's fricking horrific. What jack arse signed off on that structure? Who supervised the amount of people allowed on at once?

We went across it about 7 minutes prior to it falling. We were running on in the wooded trail when we heard it fall and my wife said, "what the hell was that?" I said it sounded like bodies hitting the ground. You could hear several deep thumps onto the ground.

It was a very shaky obstacle. Poor construction. They just used 2X4's and there was only 3 support beams. It was funny, while we were on top of that obstacle, a big black guy with dreads who was next to me said ..."is it suppose to shake like this?" The obstacle was very feeble.

That's a photo from today. I recognize the WF sports park in the background.

Hella Lulz that over 7 min into the dash, you still hadn't been able to break away from your wife

Yeah, my understanding is that the Tough Mudders are actually legit. I think some of those courses are like 8 or 9 miles long.

But I believe Warrior Dash is basically a 5k with some gimmicky obstacles thrown in.

You were close to me. Huge back up there and they were working on it. We went around it through the woods
