Feel free to prove me wrong. Where should I go to get a good poboy in Baton Rouge? Please leave Jimmy Johns off the list.

Good call. No idea why I got so many DVs. Just named some poboy places on his way in. I don't know what he considers a good
Poboy
I'd name randy Montalbano's but they are closed due to flood and nowhere near campus. There are just few places in town I'd go out of my way for to get a poboy in BR. We are not a great poboy town. It we do have some decent places.

You do realize a poboy is just a sandwich, right? Are you a sandwich snob? Wtf

Get a sandwich tray from Rouses

Bear's Po-Boys right off Metairie Road and Causeway I'm sure they can make you a nice tray or two or ten of poboys. You can also call ahead and have it ready to pick up

Jam-Up. Get off the interstate at Hwy 30 and head left. Then make a left on 73 and it will be at the corner of 73 and River Road. They have one of the best shrimp po'boys I've ever had, they're cheap, and they can provide plenty of po'boys. Then, just hop back on 30 and take it all the way to the stadium.

But the question should be why is the OP coming to town since they suck.
Miles has been fired. Orgeron is the interim. Maybe he's excited to see that.

He wasn't fired when I posted. Nice try.
Get a platter of mini muffeletto at Danny and Clydes.

Wife and I graduated from LSU. We are flying to NO for a long weekend and when the other couple said Yes to an LSU game I jumped all over it.
I was bumming a little Sunday morning but with the change the atmosphere should be much better. Thanks for the suggestion. Might just do that.

Post boy express in baton rouge is awful....do not go there ever
I don't understand the hate for PBE. It's exactly what you expect. Cheap fried seafood poboys. The onion rings are very good. The newish one on Siegen is the one I go to most frequently. I mean it's not gourmet by any means but I'd give it a 7/10.
If you decide on a place near campus, I'd suggest Georges on Highland.
Though I agree w/ the other poster that Poboy's may not be the best tailgate option, unless you're looking for a deli-meat poboy. AM Mart in that case.

If you're staying in the Quarter just order them from Verdi Mart or Johnny's PoBoy's and have them delivered to you before you leave for Baton Rouge. Both have great sandwiches. Be warned their delivery is often slow so leave yourself a good time cushion to be safe.

I suggest not getting hot poboys. They won't keep and won't be very good.

Another suggestion is to pick up some Muffalettas from Central Grocery.

Hey look everybody! It's the owner of PBE!

Don't do this. If you're going to go the deli meat route, hit up AM Mart on the corner of Nicholson and Brightside in BR for po'boys (I recommend the Cajun Turkey with pepperjack cheese) or hit up Anthony's on Government Street for Muffaletta's. Anthony's makes the best muffeletta I've ever had, and that includes central grocery.
