I think those Hurricanes get hyped up because of all the players they had that were great pros. BUT, look at OSU 2015 and Alabama 2010. Both teams were loaded with first rounders and all pros but they lost games they shouldn't have AND didn't even sniff a championship. Stop riding Miami's cock and admit that 2008 Florida was far and away the greatest team on that list after the Ole Miss loss. They would've TRASHED 2001 Miami.

The only argument that could be made against Miami is history has proven Larry Coker was an awful coach and won with butch's players.

In a hypothetical bowl game between 01 Miami and some of the other national championship teams, it's completely reasonable to believe that given 4 weeks to prepare, a Pete Carroll, nick saban or urban Meyer coached team could have defeated 01 Miami by out coaching them.

I think that is their one of better arguments, that team was so good that they won a National Championship with Larry Coker has their head coach.

Blowing out both Paterno & Bowden on the way to the title.

This thread has delivered because it elicited every single cliche LSU bullshite ever, which is awesome.

We got USC bitching, undefeated in regulation, 2006 team best team of all of them, AND 2011 Bama undeserving in the same thread. Well done

I think Tebow's Florida could have beat them.

The would struggle to move the ball vs that Miami team.

I don't think '01 Miami ever faced a scheme even close to '08 Florida's. And '01 Miami came perilously close to dropping games against Boston College and Virginia Tech that year - plus they gave up almost 500 yards of offense against a Florida State team that finished 8-4.

This guy gets it.

Urban Meyer or Nick Saban would have beat that Miami team. No doubt.

Had the 2011 LSU team finished the job and not laid an absolute egg in the title game, they would easily top the list. Best team in the last 20 years, easily

Lolololol

No QB = not a great team

The result of that game was correct.

That team was nearly perfect until you get to the QB spot...you know one of the most important positions in football. Taking that into account, any champion could "hang" with them as long as they don't "beat" themselves by missing kicks or turning the ball over.

I mean OSU 2015 finished 12-1. They played like crap for much of the year so I get your point but 12-1 isn't 10-3. They were 1 bad PI call against them away from being back in the playoff sniffing a title

Am I the only one that think OSU 2014 would be considered a top 5-7 team here? They ran through two Playoff teams whereas most of these teams had to win one game.

Miami 01
USC 04

Maybe Ohio State from two years ago and Florida 2008 honorable mention

The rest

Bama's best team on that list shouldn't have been in the game.

Bottom 3
Ohio State 02
Florida 06
LSU 07

I think 2012 Alabama had every right to be in that game against Notre Dame after their win over Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.

I liked the 2011 team a little better

Bama's schedule both years (11 and 12) was complete garbage so I can only go by the "eye test".
In 2011, played two ranked teams in reg season. Lost to one at home.
In 2012, played 3 ranked teams (one being a 5 loss Michigan team) in reg season. Lost to one at home.

I could see an argument made for both teams.

The 2012 Alabama offense was more explosive than 2011's. And people forget that Alabama's defense was ranked #1 in every major category - same as the 2011 defense.
