There are many houses there that were home to senior citizens

More than likely, the home is paid for, and just live on a fixed income.

I'm guessing many of the senior citizens will not rebuild and go live with family and possibly out of state. Sell the house as is for 60k and be done with it.

Before our house got destroyed in the flood, I had lived in Sherwood Forest from about age 5 to age 20. It has gotten considerably trashier and more dangerous in the 15 years I grew up there. You can easily find yourself in a bad spot if you wander off into the wrong area at night. Drug dealers everywhere near where we lived off Flannery, and I heard gunshots usually several times a month at night.

I miss home, but don't think we'll ever move back. So many nicer places to live in BR. Broadmoor is great, though. Would live there in a heartbeat over what Sherwood Forest had become.

Sherwood Forest is a fairly large area so people need to specify when they label it trashy/dangerous.

My home, near the intersection of Sherwood and Goodwood didn't flood and I've had nothing but peace, quiet, and good neighbors for the past 7 years.

Also, I had an appraisal done Monday for reasons and I can guarantee the home will appraise for about $30k more than what I paid for it in 2009. So the entire area is hardly depreciating.

Like I said, SF is fairly large, so to label the entire subdivision is silly.

Do tell the place to live now? Last I checked crime was everywhere. There is nothing wrong with Sherwood Forest or Broadmoor.

Fair enough. I lived in the "bad area" near Flannery. The part of Sherwood you live in near St. Thomas More is fine.

I live right on the edge of both neighborhoods. I like my house and neighbors.

Is STM still a good school?

STM is a great school that has suffered a downward trend in enrollment. I hope the area does experience a comeback but it all depends on the property owners deciding that their neighborhoods will not suffer the same fate Brookstown (NBR) did in the 60-70's

The area I am looking at is behind broodmore HS. Seems tucked away and google street view doesn't look to bad.

A friend of mine lives around that area behind Broadmoor HS. We went trick-or-treating with them last year and had fun; it was safe and there were a lot of neighborhood kids. Seemed like a good place for young families, but there were some elderly people at some houses too so it's kind of a mix. Most houses/yards were kept up nicely.

Nothing wrong with that area... I used to live on Elizabeth right across from broadmoor. It's not what it was 25 years ago, but I think for the most part it's still good

I've got several friends in that area. Definitely a great area of Broadmore, as you go from the school area to Sharp Rd.

I live near Broadmoor Elementary/Broadmoor Baptist. The area you're taking about it just fine.

Broadmoor is a great area with large lots. I have three friends that are doctors and two engineers that live there and love it. I know a couple of retired cops there too.

I lived on Bonita for awhile.
