It is insane to think that LSU could finish at 11-1 or 10-2.

9-3 is now the best case scenario.

8-4 or 7-5 are most likely.

All the goals are toast. But, at least we'll be able to look back at 2016 and say LSU was a Top 5 team ... thanks, AP!

"wait and see" ... dammit, man ... how much more waitin' and seein' do we have to do?

"I think we need some new energy in our football program."

I certainly agree with this. I saw an LSU team that played with no emotion this weekend. It seems as if the players are resigned to the fact that our offense is going to be terrible. We need a new leader on the sideline. someone that will bring some energy. Miles just does not have it anymore.

I'd bet 10 years salary LSU finishes worse than 10-2

Hell could go winless in the sec

Huh? It wouldn't make it more difficult.

Miles makes these things more difficult than they have to be.

Players rally around interim HC's all the time.

To win conference championships?

I'm not saying it's Miles until December. I'm saying it's Miles until we've got two SEC losses or something.

I agree. We've waited and seen long enough. That NC is almost ten years old now, and 9-3 is the best case scenario?

I don't know about that. I think that team would beat both of those schools.

Let's face it: LSU has the talent to crank out at least 9 more wins. The goal of winning the SEC is still attainable. As a result, the goal of getting to the playoffs is still attainable. Until those goals are no longer on the table, you won't see any wheels in motion as it relates to replacing Miles. Despite all the doom and gloom, It's still a wait and see situation.

Well yeah. I know that. Hell, I don't even really see a point in firing him today. It's not like we can hire his replacement today and you're not going to totally revamp the offense DURING the season.

IMO, the Auburn game will be HUGE. LSU should be able to slop through wins against JSU and MSU. Hell, they might even play well. However, despite everything that is going on right now, fans still expect LSU to win those games.

In some respects AU looked good against Clemson (at least defensively). The fanbase is hanging the loss SQUARELY on Malzahn's strange use of his QBs in that game. At the moment, they are almost as fed up with Malzahn as LSU fans are with Miles.

If LSU beats AU, then some positivity will creep back in. The thought will be "if we can right the ship, all the season goals are still ahead of us." If LSU loses that game, then I think the house crumbles once and for all. LSU may still have an outside shot at the SEC title, but in all likelihood any playoff hopes will be dashed with 2 losses in Sept.

For both fanbases whoever loses the AU/LSU game is (figuratively) a dead man walking.

I don't see the downside in waiting to can Miles. Either he finishes as shitty as everyone thinks and he's fired or he rallies and justifies another year.

think you are right in that if Miles wins the SEC this year, he is retained. Short of winning the SEC, he is done.

If he won the SEC he'd deserve to stay. But this offense makes that impossible.

You have to wait at this point. Theres a chance things could turn around, but i dont think he'll be back next year. The only reason to can him mid-season is to get a jump start on finding the next HC. But none of them are going to want to talk until after the season. Especially Jimbo and Harmon in possible playoff runs. After the last regular season game is the time to make a move, and if we learned anything last year, they'll not say anything about it until then.

We've all waited long enough and we can see perfectly that change has to happen even if he lucks out a few ugly wins and happens to turn this around. I'm done with seeing this kind of football it's a joke really and no one with their right mind can say otherwise. It's not smart football period, it's just not. I hear what you saying and that is what's going to happen no doubt but LSU would be absolute fools not to be quietly putting wheels in motion now. I would have been last year and just simply denying anything that leaked if it did. I would just say it isn't coming from LSU and let it die. But I would surely be acting (last year) and I'm sure they have been. It's not a fluke it's been tried and tried again. It is what it is, and he had zero excuses this year.

Chicken, based on what was shown do you actually believe this team will go undefeated or only lose one game the rest of the way?? C'mon man.

What if LSU just squeaks out a win to Jacksonville state? Something like 13-10 while looking ugly doing it?? Penalties, clock issues, Harris is again 10-22 with no TDs and 1 INT, play calling is the same. How much longer can we say let's wait and see? This could very well happen after all the pressure that will be on this team.

They could also blow them out the water and have the best game of their lives and I really hope they do but that doesn't mean ok yeah he's different now. I didn't see anything different NOTHING.

The most difficult scenario to call will be if we finish 9-3, Fournette sets the school rushing record and gets to NYC as a Heisman finalist, and we give Alabama its only loss of the regular season. As a team, we would be five straights years without making the SEC Championship game but we would have an improved conference record, Heisman candidate, and a signature win in November over the #1 team in the country.

I wouldn't like the results but I would have a hard time seeing LSU fire him.
