Same sentiments here, I hope the team rallies in spite of who is running the ship, I just hope this team doesn't lay down because of Miles.

Hurts my damn heart to see all these kids come back to give us our best team since 2011 only to recycle the same garbage we've had for years now.

Let's face it: LSU has the talent to crank out at least 9 more wins. The goal of winning the SEC is still attainable. As a result, the goal of getting to the playoffs is still attainable. Until those goals are no longer on the table, you won't see any wheels in motion as it relates to replacing Miles.

Despite all the doom and gloom, It's still a wait and see situation.

Chicken, I respectfully disagree. I think the straw broke the camel's back Saturday. It is now irrefutable that LSU Football is "Groundhog's Day".

I think you are right in that if Miles wins the SEC this year, he is retained. Short of winning the SEC, he is done.

I think there is a very real possibility that before the second week in October, it is a foregone conclusion that Miles will be fired.

Sure, but what good does a move make right now? No need to make things anymore difficult for guys like Tre White who deserve a chance to finish with as few distractions as possible. We can argue whether a move should have been made last fall, but at this point it is Miles until the end of the season IMO.

I concur. Realistically, Les has earned his right to ride off into the sunset. (Which is what the last regular season game was supposed to be), but if the goals aren't attained, I expect him to either come out on his own and step away, or if he won't do that, flat-out be fired.

Ok. So they're not the ones making the final decision. but they can sure as hell get things in motion.
All im saying is, when a school like LSU comes that close to firing a coach, there are plenty of eager boosters out there trying to get their guy in. Harmon and Jimbo have both been wined and dined by LSU boosters in the off-season.

It might as well be off the table. Wisconsin is about as bad as Vanderbilt and South Carolina.

Agreed. As frustrated as I am after seeing the crap product we saw on Saturday, IMO, we need to rally around the team/support them as best we can...because there is still a lot of ball to be played. Hopefully there is a turn around (and quick) and the team can still achieve their goals.

I think the fans are the least of Tre's worries

Probably more distracted by the god awful offense along with the rest of the college football world

I'm typically a positiger so I still believe LSU rolls this weekend at home at night against them.

@au and @uf will be rough as they both appear to be good defenses and those are tough places to play.

then you still have the possible annual beat-downs coming from alabama, arkansas, and ole miss tho

and i have never once been even slightly concerned about a&m and i still don't think they are any better this season.. but for the first time, i am actually concerned with that game.. hopefully the line is stronger by then and we just run all over them as usual..

Nah I'm not blaming the fans or anything. I'm just suggesting, much like Chicken, that a coaching change at this point is disrespectful to a team that still has all of its goals in front of it. How likely those goals are is another story altogether, but they still exist.

I disagree. His arrogance and stubborness to the point of losing is sapping away a lot of the good will.

We'll probably struggle against Jax St., beat Miss. State and then lose to Auburn on the road. Auburn looks much better this year. Missouri should be a W and at UF could be a toss-up, but then we have Ole Miss and Bama after Southern Miss. The SEC title goals could be off of the table pretty fast based on what I've seen out of LSU and the teams in their division.

Chicken,

Do you think the president will have the ability to trump the boosters a second time, especially after they were proven right and he has egg all over his face?

Huh? It wouldn't make it more difficult.

Miles makes these things more difficult than they have to be.

Players rally around interim HC's all the time.

It depends how bad it gets first of all.. If Miles drops a couple more games.. it would be best to start up the process..

How does a coaching change affect an elite defensive player? He wouldn't be likely to losing any of his defensive players.

I admit that I don't fully understand the decision making hierarchy for matters like this, but I imagine that he can do it again since he is the president. I suppose the governor (his boss) could make him fire Les.

More times than not, all they do is screw things up and make it more difficult for the admin to make a move.

LSU does have the talent to win 9, but it isn't likely to happen with a one dimensional offense. Opponents have to at least think there is the possibility of having multiple completions on a drive.
