Domenica is a clear number one

Christianos and del Porto are superb

Genos is nowhere near the other 3.

Pinetta's in BR was awesome at one point. Haven't been there for a long time though....

My favorites are Sal & Judy's in Lacombe, Irene's and Italian Barrel in NO, and Gino's in BR. I really like Ancora in NO, as well.

Sal and Judy's in LaCombe

Going Friday for my annual birthday dinner. My dad took me every year for my birthday until he died 4 years ago. My mom and wife started taking me afterwards to continue the tradition.

Wonderful place!

I believe the food at Milano in Houma is 100x better than christiano's. The ambiance and atmosphere is better at christiano's though

I haven't tried the food since they switched ownership a few years ago

But I'd have to disagree based on what I've heard

And I used to enjoy Milano

I found Milano disappointing but I had one lunch several years ago. I've been to Christianos many times now to be fair.

Ancora is the best pizza by far in Louisiana...at least compared to the stuff I ate all over Italy.

Domenica is by far the best then I think it's del Porto, Christianos, Mariza, Ancora, Avo, Marcellos in some order.

RIP LA Riviera...

I only spent couple of months in Italy (and I have managed dinner at the number one restaurant in world, Osteria Francescana)...but there is more to this than the best Italian restaurant...

Gelato-Sucre
Italian coffee- the merchant
Italian cocktails- Bar Frances and Ancora
Italian vermouth purchasing- Keife and Co
Creole Italian- Vincent's uptown and marcellos
Pannino- IL Posto
Appeitivo hour- IL Posto
Homemade pasta- Fressina- BR
Italian grocery- North Joe's- old Metairie
Muffaletta- central grocery

Domenica would easily have a michelin star (this is my opinion after eating at over twenty starred restaurants in NYC, Italy, Japan, France, Chicago, San Francisco)

I have to agree with you that Oak Oven should be in this conversation. We went about a month ago, and they were firing on all cylinders. Pizzas were outstanding and the entrees were on point. That shrimp and crabmeat pizza is great.

Gio's Villa Vancheri

Mandeville

It's tiny and very unknown. But it is the best. Gio (owner/chef) is actually from Italy, was an actor and restaurateur in Vegas back in the golden age and used to run with the Rat Pack.

Osso Bucco and veal chop are out of this world.

The best Italian food in Shreveport/Bossier can be found at Cascio's Market Bistro...everthing there is homemade by the "Italian Stallion" himself, Rocky Cascio. Best homemade Lasagna you'll find in our area.
