I've been clearing some land and this is the second time I've gotten it.

Yeah yeah, should have worn gloves & long-sleeves etc. but aside from calamine, anyone have any tricks to reduce the amount of time i look like a human pizza?

Go to doc and get steroid shot an Rx.

I will say one of the best feeling is a hot shower "scratching" your poison ivy for you. It feels amazing.

Did you and your wife get drunk and frick in the woods? Lower inhibitions have consequences.

This time - Debromo (sp?) powder packets. mix with water, apply to skin with towel, let it soak.

Next time - Tecnu lotion. Best I've found for neutralizing the poison. Expensive but worth it.

Probably shouldn't admit this, but.....

About 5 years ago, I was in the woods for a few hours and started getting itchy spots in various areas. There was poison ivy in that area so I assumed that's what was causing the itching. I took some of the recommended poison ivy ointments and it got worse. I found out later that my initial itchiness was due to my body's natural reaction to other allergens and the poison ivy ointment made it much worse.

I've seen people doo an intense deep scrub which gets the oils or whatever completely off.

It isn't easy but supposedly it works
