This happened between Lafayette and BR on Tuesday. Took 2 hours to get to BR and not 1 wreck.

BR needs a loop 100x's more than Shreveport could ever need one.

But Shreveport was smart and built theirs BEFORE it was needed. That northern loop has been there for at lease 30 years. The south loop as been there almost as long but just got connected properly in the last 5-7 years or so.

ou should try 35 North of Dallas.

All of DFW is under construction. And the surface streets in Dallas border on being NOLA bad. My property taxes have gone up 20% but we don't have money to fix streets.

Couple of months ago on I-20 near Minden they trenched out the solid white line for around 10-15 miles only to repave it and paint over it. What was the point of that?

^^ Sounds like retrofitting shoulder drains to me...

As soon as that got done they made it one lane again and started cutting slits into the sides of I-20 only to repave them as well.

^^ Sounds like forensic evaluation. Probably trying to figure out how to fix the road (or whats underneath it) so it doesn't fail again in 5 years.

How does Shreveport have a bypass but BR doesn't have a loop?

BR fricked up by letting small town guys run this place for decades and didn't have the foresight to start planning ahead for increased population growth and urban sprawl. Edwin Edwards had a huge role in that as well as he only cared about his corrupt bullshite and lining the pockets of himself and his buddies instead of helping out the state capital of Louisiana.

Bottom line is corruption and lack of foresight to start planning ahead is why BR doesn't have a loop.

Bobby Jindal liked to pay Deloitte to tell them how to save money and Deloitte decided that the state should use a thinner layer of pavement when building roads. So expect things to improve!

Another thing I noticed...numerous places where cops were running radar. I saw more cops running radar in Louisiana today then I have in the previous 15 states of my current trip combined.

Also, why can't LaDOT build a freeway that connects Lafayette to New Orleans without having to make a blank trip through BR? Or at least Lafayette to LaPlace? You could probably save at least 30 minutes (not counting traffic) without having to go through BR.

If TXDOT was in charge of building freeways in Louisiana, I guarantee you wouldn't have to drive through BR to get from Laffy to NO.

The i-49 connector project has been dis cussed and discussed and discussed for many years. I doubt we see it happen anytime soon

The roads in LA are built to go to shite after 5 years so they can keep handing out those lucritive road contracts.

Texas has tried to keep up with the population boom but it's an uphill battle. Congestion in Austin and north Dallas is suffocating.

But the new 635 In Dallas is with those express lanes. Like riding on air.
