Difference between roads in Texas and Louisiana

In TX, I encountered two separate instances of lane closures on I 20 and didn't experience any delays at all.
In Louisiana east of Shreveport on I 20 a lane is closed and we are at a complete stop miles from the actual closure with the same amount of traffic.
Get your shite together Louisiana.

Plus as soon as you hit the La state line the road turns to shite.
What happened to the Casino money going to schools and roads ?
Worst roads and education system in the US.

The roads tell the difference. It should say something when the roads IMPROVE going into Mississippi.

So, you're saying I should gamble more?

Texas actually performs preventative maintenance and increases road capacity where it can before traffic becomes a major issue. Louisiana mandates that every road project be 100% funded instead of just completing that work in stages as money becomes available. Therefore very little gets done in Louisiana.

When driving I-10 from Texas, the ride quality goes to hell as soon as I cross the state line.

How does Shreveport have a bypass but BR doesn't have a loop?

It somehow got misplaced in politicians pet projects and was spent accidentally.

Two merging Interstates.

So, like I-10 and I-110, or is it more like 1-10 and I-12?

I take it you haven't gone through Jackson lately.

Another thing is Louisiana drivers are among the slowest drivers in the lower 48. There are 2 speeds here: 10 miles under the speed limit and 20 miles over. Those two things don't mix well.

I'm dumb. Forgot about 10-12 split. 110 is not a full interstate though. More of a joke though. BR needs a loop 100x's more than Shreveport could ever need one.

You should try 35 North of Dallas. Bring a gun. You'll want to kill yourself.

Louisiana is at/near the bottom in many things. Roads and road construction are definitely one of the many things this state sucks at

I'll say, I hated the interstate designs in Houston. The way you merge on is crazy, and those service roads are giant speed traps.

This may be timing and proximity of the closure to population centers. Because, while I do not dispute the difference in the quality of the road surfaces, I've seen lane closures on I-20 in East Texas tie up traffic for miles.

I mean...I hate busting the balls of my home state, but yeah, crossing the Sabine River is almost like crossing over into a financially strained country in terms of how bad the roads are.
Louisiana DOT, when are you going to do something about the I-10 Calcasieu Bridge in Lake Charles? What's that? Nothing until it collapses? Okay thanks.
