Miles on the upswing in recruiting

He came back with a vengeance in the fall.
He should have the top class come February, with Moses as the headliner.

I like the optimism, but it will be difficult for him to have the top class.

You know well enough that 8 months out, we have no idea how things will actually fall.

His recruiting never fell off

The recruiting has been at a high level the past 4 years and this year is no different. Should finish with a top 5 class again.

Miles is a great recruiter with questionable coaching skills

We had the following 3 year average class ranking (according to 247)
2009-2011 (7)
2011-2013 (9.3)
2014-2016 (3.7)
So technically he IS on the upswing.
The group he has assembled will reap huge benefits if we can keep them together for a couple of years. I expect to see a little uptick in OOS elite recruits. Maybe more importantly, I think these guys (Aranda has proven it at Wisconsin) will have a great eye when it comes to filling needs with "under the radar" guys, if/when those 5 stars commit elsewhere.
I think our player development is going to be much better as well. Raymond has always been great. Craig, Aranda and O (already proven) are going to be light years ahead of Henry, Chavis, and Brick. I expect Juluke will do well filling the shoes of Wilson.
It's a good time to be a Tiger!

Hopefully Aranda can help bring in some good linebackers for his scheme.

If I had to put money on it, I'd bet he does.
as for finishing #1, get the top 2 DEs, moses, a legit QB and continue knocking it out of the park on OL, I don't care where they finish.

This is such bullshite. You know it. And all the other clowns do too. Kids don't come in ready to play in the NFL. Even guys like fournette have improved. Les has sent a shite ton of kids to the NFL and changed the lives of so many young men.
To sit here 11 years later and still talk down about the guy is bush league. He's most likely going to end his career here with more wins than cholly and as the best coach LSU has had.

I think 2016 was his best chance for top class. He just needed a couple of surprise signing day commits, but couldn't quite pull it. He will however continue to produce top 5 classes each year. Losing Jacoby Stevens was the sting that separates top 3 to 5 to the best

Fact of the matter is, Les Miles winning percentage in November IS less than .400 since 2012!!! How can any of you give him a pass for that??? Go ahead and down vote, but you are wrong.

I've said all along that the narrative on this board would shift over the summer. He's done a lot this offseason. I think everyone is in agreement that this is the year or it's not gonna happen.

Yep. There will be ample ammo by November, if not before.
