football improved, because we sucked in 08-09
basketball is stagnant and not any different
baseball is the same
women's basketball has regressed a good bit, but she was a solid hire at the time
softball is much better

oh, the horror!!!!

Basketball was final four in 2006 and conf champs in 09 I think. No way the program is even close to what we were.

we weren't good in 2007 or 2008, and the question is whether or not we're better or worse since 2008

I think you've got much too narrow of a view.
Probably so. I'm just frustrated and don't find baseball as enjoyable as I used to. They really taken a lot of the fun out of it

It's cool. I feel the same about hoops. Totally had it with JJ.

CPM's LSU baseball team won the regular season SEC championship last yr. The toughest league in the country going on several yrs now. Look at the Top 15 this yr. See all those SEC teams in it? CLM has a lot of distractors, and rightly so, but his team last yr was a no rain out game against McNesse St. last yr from winning 10 games.

Football- hard to say. Based on our recent Novembers- yes.
Basketball- I'm no JJ fan but overall program is on more sold ground. (Can't believe I typed that)
Baseball- no. Anyone who says yes has an agenda
WBB- yes
Softball- no. We're much better. (I am disappointed with this season so far- with who we had returning)

Baseball Program-No tourney in 2006, No tourney in 2007, CWS in 2008. Enter Joe Alleva - 2009 CWS champs, 4 more CWS appearances and 3 SEC championships, 1 season as a 2 seed and 1 non tourney team mixed in. I'd say its the same if not better.

Basketball-06 final four, 2 bad 2007 and 2008 years. Enter Joe Alleva - 2009 SEC title, 1 win in ncaa tourney, 2010-2012 awful. 2013-2015 1 tourney appearance. I'd say its still inconsistent, close to the same.

Football-06 10 wins, 07 championship, enter joe alleva, 2008 not good, 2009-2010 pretty good, 2011 Championship game loss, 2012-2015 couple 10 win seasons mixed in with an 8 win season. I'd say its down slightly.

You factor that, on top of our rise in softball, gymnastics, women's tennis, and men's golf, and I'd say we're much stronger since he's gotten here. Alleva has also handled some very well-done facility projects

We need new blood in the men's tennis, volleyball program, women's golf, and soccer program. things have just become stale, and we can do better. Discontinue swimming and press the reset button in basketball. when that's all said and done we'll be a top 5 athletic program.

Football:
We've had ups and downs. All depends on this year really. He came in following an NC, nowhere to go but down really. Played for another since and set up for a run this year

Basketball:
I'd agree, we were coming off a rough 07 and we did win the sec in 09 I believe though, and made the tournament last year.

Baseball:
Same in my opinion. Won it all in 09, been a national seed the last 3 years

Women's basketball:
I don't remember the year pokie was fired but def haven't been the same since

I will say he was gifted the coaches running the successful programs. Hasn't done much to them.
Made some bad hires in basketball but don't know how much influence he was under.
Softball hire seemed to be solid.
Nikki looked like a good hire but should be gone by now for what we pay her

SEC Title and National Championship game appearance says otherwise.

2000-2007
2 national championships
4 SEC championship game appearances
3 SEC championship game wins
4 BCS bowl wins
4 BCS bowl appearances
4x division winner
5 10+ win seasons
4 11+ win seasons
2 12+ win seasons
1 13 win season
6 bowl wins
4 3+ loss seasons

2008-2015
1 national championship appearance
1 SEC championship win
1 SEC championship appearance
1 BCS bowl (Big bowl) appearance
1x division winner
4 10+ win seasons
2 11+ win season
1 12+ win season
1 13 win season
4 bowl wins
6 3+ loss seasons

I'm pretty sure that's a noticeable drop off.

Worst LSU draft ever? Halfway thru the second round and still no one picked.

Football wins an SEC title and goes to a NC and baseball wins a NC and they've "regressed."
