One SECW title in 8 years is not very good IMO.

I think the programs that succeed do so because of their individual staffs, not because of a smooth AD here.

Miles and Manieri have enough clout and control to keep the programs running, in spite of some questionable administrative moves. Breaux in women's gymnastics is probably also that case, she's been there forever and will just do her thing.

I don't think there is any unified vision anymore, not like there had been a few years back.

Your timeline doesn't fit the actual results.
Basket ball won an SEC title and made 4 trips to post-season play since then which is about par for the course of any piece of LSU history other than the Dale Brown run.
Baseball won the national title since then and has been to the CWS several other times. Also won the SEC tourney several times.
Football won the SEC and finished 2nd in the nation; probably win the BCS title again had the pollsters not given 'Bama a mulligan. Likely on the verge of their 5th 10 or more win season since '08. Softball's been to multiple CWS and women's basketball is well, who cares?
I personally can't stand Aleva, but the thread is not exactly a rousing success. Better luck next time.

I think the point is that LSU sports seem to be trending in the wrong direction especially if you start with football then to basketball and finally with baseball. The last two years in football have just been ok, playing in the Music City Bowl and the Texas Bowl are not exactly setting the world on fire. Also with pretty much being Alabama's b_itch since 2012 hasn't helped. Basketball is really a dumpster fire, good talent but basically we have a AAU coach running the show. As for Baseball I think the verdict is still out, they seem to have good regular seasons but struggle in the CWS. Overall I don't think Alleva is a good AD unfortunately nothing is going to happen.

We are just left with memories of when we were really good across the board. Guys like Saban, Emmert and Skip are gone and so are the wins.

2008-2015

1 SEC championship win
1 SEC championship appearance
1 BCS bowl (Big bowl) appearance
1x division winner
4 10+ win seasons
2 11+ win season

IIRC, SEC had 3 NCs '00-'07 (with LSU owning 2) and 6 NCs '08-present.....with 5 of those from LSU's own division.
Similar with baseball with 1 SEC NC from '00-'07 and 4 since.
Not really covering for Joe, but safe to say SEC competition is a good bit stronger.

Over the last 6 years, the only squad that is markedly better and still improving is Gymnastics. Everything else has been on the decline overall.

the baseball team, at present, is in much worse shape than they were when he got here

LSU has been a national seed for the last 3 or 4 seasons and hosted a super regional. They've pretty much been on par with what they were like when he got here. He took over in July right after Manieri took LSU to Omaha. The season with the long winning streak. Prior to that the team was pretty bad under smoke laval. Basketball in 08 was pretty terrible I think they went sub .500. 08 football was lee pick 6 and malveto defense. I think we've won an SEC championship in all 3 sports since then and a national championship in baseball. I'm not a fan of Alleva but I don't really think football or Baseball have regressed. Basketball has just been disappointing since John brady's last season.
