Yep, sad really.

One day when we're all old we're going to be tuning in to the first round of college football's 32 team postseason tournament brought to you by wells fargo presented by tostitos hosted by dr pepper played at apple arena and wonder wtf happened to the college football we grew up with.

I'd bet everything I own that most major FB and BB programs in the country participate in similar types of activities to some degree. I was a tutor for athletes at A&M and some of the junk courses and extra credit assignments were laughable.

Agreed, which makes it completely inexcusable when athletes fail to make grades.

Aren't they still technically under investigation?

My understanding was that this was dragging out because there were issues other than the NCAA (federal funding, accreditation, etc.) at play.

It's dragging out bc they aren't going to do anything. UNC is to the ACC, what Bama is to the SEC.

UNC, as of now, is the one dragging this out. They were supposed to respond to the NCAA in the fall, but reported that they found additional violations in sports no one cares about and they wanted to investigate before responding to the charges. Of course, they did this because they wanted to get through the basketball season without having the hammer come down on them while they have one of the best teams they've had in years.

In the end, they may vacate some wins, maybe lose some schollies, and/or get a one year post season ban, but this year will be considered clean and they'll get to keep the NC if they win it. That may not have happened if they didn't drag it out like they've done.

Bama, of course.

So we're gonna ignore the 18 teams put on probation for improper book benefits... facts are a bitch

What's your point exactly with these facts? Bama just won the title. Didn't seem to effect them very much, which is the point of the thread.

Other than we got multiple years for multiple teams it's exactly like it. Getting free books is exactly like straight up fraud too. I can't believe I never noticed how similar they truly were. Plus the sanctions ended like 5 years ago, so your just won the title is entirely irrelevant in the comparison, unless we're discussing 2021 UNC.

1. He looks like a Baptist preacher. No way he would cheat. But look those slimeball Eye-talians like Pitino and Calipari. He's not one of them.
2. He gave the NCAA Dale Brown on a silver platter. He is untouchable.

You're really going this route? What inside knowledge do you know to be true without a doubt that implicates Roy Williams directly?

In fact, how do you know it doesn't go on at any other school?

There are 128 Div 1 teams in football, did you get inside knowledge on all of those by some chance?

There are 351 Div 1 programs in basketball, did you get inside knowledge on all of those?

You're not going to respond to this because you have no response, because you're wrong, and you're talking out of your arse.

I know this, you can't rule out anyone, at all.

I know of regular students who get preferential treatment through connections just to get admitted to particular schools, you dont think all these div 1 teams realize the pay out of a good team in their main athletics?

The ACC will make $39.9 million from the NCAA tournament, and you hilariously think UNC is the only team to dabble in academic issues from the ACC? Its a great example of whats at stake for ALL SCHOOLS if they can put a formidable team out there. You're being far too naive on this one. You have no facts to substantiate your claim, and stop speaking like you do.

I've never heard of anyone hating Roy Williams as much as this board.

They praise Calipari, Saban, Boeheim, and Urban Meyer, yet they act like Roy Williams is the biggest criminal in college sports ever.

Wut? Seems like those guys get shite all the time. Saban not as much, but there's been plenty of cheater, heart attack or overrated posts on here about the others.
