The mob was on the Northshore in the 20's and 30's. The area was one of their go-to vacation spots. Funny that no one in Mandeville talks about that part of the area's history. Then there was the Dixie Mafia in the 60's and 70's.

Carlos Marcellos in the 80's. I saw him and his crew at Sal and Judy's on a regular basis.

So is it likely there is an organized criminal element on the Northshore today? I would say yes.

I had a couple HS classmates with family members in the mob. Grew up outside NYC in the 80's so it really wasn't as big of a deal as it is today.

My grandfather would buy his Oldsmobiles from a dealership with alleged mob connections. He loved that place because they went above and beyond for WWII vets.

Went on a couple of dates years ago with a girl who I swear her dad was a hit man. You could look at the guy and tell he'd strangled a few people with garrote wire. Only girl I ever dated who's dad scared the shut out if me

It wouldn't surprise me, but they must keep a pretty low profile, at least as far as anything outwardly criminal or violent, especially these days when there's a lot of Fed presence around always checking into things.
