Please let Riverside go out of business.

Here's a tip if you don't wanna get fricked with
Back your vehicle into your parking spot.
Turn your tires full lock.
Set your parking break.

I went to buy some books from Chimes bookstore back in the day watched the tow truck driver sitting in the parking lot next to Mr. Gattis just wait for people to park and walk away and tow them one at a time. He got like 4 of them.

Isn't the problem with this though, that locals are in their pocket as well? Who's going to regulate them if they're working together?

even better, if you follow the "Make Ribverside Pay" facebook page. The lawyer who runs the page posted this
quote:
$8,000 each paid for vehicles illegally towed by Riverside Towing. When Riverside Towing illegally tows a car, the property owner is usually liable also. A Baton Rouge bank that hired Riverside just paid $8,000 to each of my clients because Riverside illegally towed their vehicles. On top of that, we plan to make Riverside towing pay even more. In addition to my clients, 24 other vehicles were towed under the same contract. Those sheep paid Riverside and did nothing. It is a mystery to me why this site has 3,000 members, but so few people even file complaints when they are illegally towed. - Neil Sweeney, page administrator.

Isn't the water campus going essentially where they are?

We should send ISIS a video of cartoon drawings of Prophet Muhammed on the side of the Riverside trailer.

A friend of mine in college set his truck on the frame with the tires 1inch off the ground.
Riverside towed him. Totaled his truck.
His insurance bought him a new truck and sued Riverside for the full value. This was a brand new f450 on 28s.
They still didn't realize they fricked up.

Riverside laughs at these other companies only charging $100 minimum. Their minimum is around $230 IIRC.
They are in with someone in the local government. LSP has unsuccessfully tried to go after them numerous times. This won't effect them at all. They do illegal tows and use illegal practices ALL OF THE TIME.
I wizened up to their tactics when I lived in BR and figured out where their staging lots were. Went and got my truck back twice for free from the Circle K on Brightside because they had like 10 cars unattended there

Yeah nothing will change here. Riverside has the city and the police in league with them.

Aren't the Riverside drivers strapped now because of all the altercations they've had?
I once saw a guy in an LSU football jersey chasing his car down highland near the chimes that was on the back on a riverside truck

The ones who hold your car hostage for more than $100 in towing and impound fees.
It's easily $250+ here

Not familiar with Riverside but they sound a lot like the predatory tow companies in Knoxville.
When I was in college, we were up on a friends balcony drinking after a football game when we spotted a tow operation in progress down the block. There was a spotter and tow driver who were towing cars as fast as they could.
After about 45 minutes, the tow driver parked his truck and walked over to where the spotter was - about 100 yards away across the street near a church. Once he reached the car, I heard a POP POP POP POP and glass shatter.
Someone put about 6-8 shots into the windshield and hood of the tow truck. Cops came in force but to my knowledge, nothing ever happened.
I wouldn't piss on those people if they were on fire.

You know, if those folks who want the monuments removed in New Orleans really had a set - they would just hire Riverside to tow them away
Riverside would have Robert E Lee on the back of that flatbed in no time

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.). “Getting towed is a very non-partisan experience.”
Van Hollen knows the experience too well.
“I was at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, literally ran in for takeout,” he explained. His car was towed in “less than 90 seconds,” he said.
This isn't a good excuse if you parked illegaly
I think these scumbags need to be dealt with but if a car is parked in a tow away zone it shouldn't matter how long. The part that needs reform is how much they can charge for the tow and storage fees.

In his neck of the woods, Montgomery County, that tow will add at least $150 onto whatever errand you were trying to run. Expensive moo shu
Surprised some crazy hillbilly in SW Va hasn't killed them yet.
