New Envie to become "baby ghost"?

From the Parish fb page:

2.) We have radically changed Envie. It is now brewed with nearly twice as many hops and is now dry hopped with tons of Galaxy and Citra. We are using the same techniques employed to brew Ghost to brew Envie now. We also lightened up the body and the grain bill is in the same family as what we use to brew Ghost. We have the technology to make epicly hoppy yet soft mouthfeel beers, so I've decided to use these techniques to juice up what was a more traditional pale ale. Basically Envie was a fine beer, but we can make it more amazing. We struggled with the idea of making an altogether different brand of beer, but ultimately changing the Envie recipe was the path I've chosen for a variety of reasons. If you don't like the newer, more hoppy, more fruity version, I'm sorry. Really. In my view, the move with the most integrity is always to try to make the beers as amazing as possible. And that means turning Envie into baby Ghost. The first package run of the new recipe is dated 11/17. It has been distributed to New Orleans this week and should start showing up soon. Also we will have it on tap for all Grand Reserve festivities here. Enjoy.

They clearly saw what Great Raft did with Commotion and realized they could sell a ton more if they changed up the recipe.

As long as they make a new check in I am good.

Oh shite. That's awesome. I wonder when it will get to BR.

Glad they are changing something up, I'm honestly not a huge fan of their flagships. As much as I like Dr. Hoptagon, Ghost, and the Neopolitan Stout I think Great Raft and NOLA have them beat on widely available beers.

Could Envie become a Zombie Dust slayer?
The BR distributor might be feeling some heat on his seat...

If I have old Envie batch how long can I keep it? In case down the road this turns out to be like New Coke.

Ol lesticles should take a page from the Parish playbook. A wise man knows when it is time to change. Good move on Andrews part. Commotion sales have to be hurting Envie right now.

If it's older than 2 days you need to pour it out, you don't want to risk hop contamination.

Last Envie I had was infected, but that was over a year ago. Maybe he's adding more hops to help keep infections at bay. But seriously, I hope the BR distributor will have it on the shelf when I'm in town next week. I'd like to give it a try. Does Parish date their bottles? I can't recall.
