Les' 31 Losses in Eleven Seasons... ETA Saban's 16 Losses in Five Seasons
Posted on 11/17/15 at 2:44 pm
Posted on 11/17/15 at 2:44 pm
Broken down by team and year:
Alabama (7) 2008, 2009, 2011 (bowl), 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
Arkansas (5) 2007, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2015
Florida (4) 2006, 2008, 2009, 2012
Georgia (3) 2005 (SEC champ), 2008, 2013
Auburn (3) 2006, 2010, 2014
Ole Miss (3) 2008, 2009, 2013
Miss St (1) 2014
Kentucky (1) 2007
Tennessee (1) 2005
(3 non-conference) Penn State 2009, Clemson 2012, Notre Dame 2014
A friend and I were discussing how if we could take back about 4 losses in Miles' career, we would have another national championship, SEC championship and two major four bowl game appearances. Outside of Alabama and Arkansas, he has pretty much owned the rest of the conference. For the love of God, please finish strong Les!
After the discussion about Saban on the rant lately, I reviewed his losses while at LSU:
Saban’s 16 losses in 5 seasons:
Auburn (3) 2000, 2002, 2004
Florida (3) 2000, 2001, 2003
Arkansas (2) 2000, 2002
Georgia (1) 2004
Alabama (1) 2002
Ole Miss (1) 2001
Tennessee (1) 2001
(4 non-conference) UAB 2000, Virginia Tech 2002, Texas 2002, Iowa 2004
Alabama (7) 2008, 2009, 2011 (bowl), 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
Arkansas (5) 2007, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2015
Florida (4) 2006, 2008, 2009, 2012
Georgia (3) 2005 (SEC champ), 2008, 2013

Sorry, but this is inexcusable for any coach at LSU with our resources and talent.

Take away the bama 2012 loss and the national championship is there for the taking.

Miles led LSU teams are undefeated after a loss EXCEPT when playing Arkansas.

Cool man. I can add just 3 losses and we don't even win the SEC West a single time over a decade. That's not how things work.

Of note: 6 of those losses were to teams that won the national championship that year
Those are somewhat forgivable IMO
Some of the losses were real head scratchers that we definitely should have won and he deserves plenty of heat for that.
Most of those losses were to quality teams though. And most were very competitive games with a few exceptions.

change of subject, but before the game they mentioned 5 night home losses, but I've seen the definition of "night" differ when discussing the stat.
Now it's 6 obviously, but are these the "night" games?
Alabama 2012, 2014
Arkansas 2015
Florida 2009
Miss St 2014
Tennessee 2005

First time since Gerry Dinardo was roaming the LSU sidelines as headcoach that LSU has lost back to back games by double digit points ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbow.gif)

The crappy Arkansas teams and players and coaches have had Les's number for years. Stack the talent up side by side and you would see a huge disparity in LSU's favor. Arkansas coaches have come and gone, LSU's stays the same.

Georgia? He's 2-3 against Georgia.

9 West losses of 22 games last 4 years (2012-15)
6 of 10 last 2 years.
quick count of your #s, subject to confirmation/correction.

What stands out to me is compare our record against Auburn in that timespan to our record against Arkansas. Y'all think Arkansas is that much better of a program than Auburn? Y'all think Auburn doesn't "get up" for the LSU game? Or do you think it has more to do with when we play Arkansas?

anyone want to break the losses down by month?
Posted on 11/17/15 at 6:44 pm to wesman21
If he would come out and set the record straight, it would save him much heartache.
If he held back, changed calls, sat on leads etc...I think it would go a long way with the fan base to have an explanation.
Basically: I want to hear him say:Yeah we could have hung 40 on UF but I didn't want to do it.

Hey if you take away all those pesky losses we're good as shite!

Don't forget Saban built and and Miles just kept it going. Only reason Miles has kept his job is because of what he took over in 07. With his own kids he didn't get past the 50!

Yeah but check out the trend since that ugly loss in 2011.
We struggle even in victory and we aren't competitive in defeat and we are dropping too many games
