re: Peveto Moves Up to #2

Peveto was the STC and LB coach every year he has been here expect 2008, when he was co-DC. But remember that year it was he and Doug Mallory. The defense wasn't very good but the offense gave up like 9 td's to the other team so I guess that's his fault too. He didn't even call the play that year Mallory did. The special teams was much better the last 5-6 games and LB's played good all year. During his time in BR he has beat Florida twice with fakes that he put in and called. The one in 07 Les was pissed he called it, but of course Les got over it real quick since it worked and won him his only title. If my memory is correct ST didn't lose LSU a game at any point in his tenure here. Getting BLOWN out by Bama, Ole Miss and Ark. had nothing to do with ST.
A high note for LSU fans, I watch and scout High School football for people I know in the college ranks. The two best players I saw were
1. Rashard Lawrence
2. Eric Monroe
I saw the Top 3 safeties play being Brandon Jones, Eric Monroe and Deontay Anderson. Monroe to me was by far the best. He can cover, plays a lot of man and can hit as well. I watched Jones play Carthage a smaller school and I wasn't impressed with his range at all. Anderson is very good as well to me a little to big in the leg to play safety. Looks to me he could move to LB or SS. Anyways, I'm a Florida State fan and you have two very very good players in Lawrence and Monroe. I know Anderson is higher on LSU's board than Jones and I totally agree with that.
GO NOLES!!!!!

seeing how Coach Pev has a great relationship with the coaches in North Louisiana from his time at Northwestern State. Yes I know he had a lot to do with getting this kid. Recruiters spend only a little time with the recruit but the coaches at the school talk to them everyday.
Don't get me wrong Eddy O is a great coach, but it's not like he is taking 2 star kids and turning them into 1st rounders. He is coaching great talent. Eddy O isn't putting them in the league, they had the talent from day 1. If they went to Bama, Ole Miss, Texas, Iowa wherever the kid would have "get put" in the pros.

He was a great coach win you won it all. ST didn't lose you a game all year. You got beat my 2 teams better than you in Bama and Ole Miss, Arkansas is no excuse. But I'm willing to bet Arkansas didn't beat you by 2+ td's because of ST. Maybe because you cant move the ball and couldn't stop them.

BDP was also the LB and ST coach the 07 season. Does anyone remember what happened that year?

Michael is from Beaumont, played at TAMU. Now in the league, McFarland played at OU, now in the league.

it also losses recruits because of fans who boo their own players. Christine Michael and Jamarkus McFarland both told me they would never go to LSU. During trip fans booed the players. I know it's only two but it was two good one. How many more has it affected?

let's not forget Mallory was actually calling the plays during the 08 season. So why should BDP get all the blame? Does anyone remember the 08 offense? only gave up about 6-7 touchdowns but NBD!

it's actually 400 for BDP and next year is the last year of his contract and it'll be 450.
re: Jimbo and Herman are the only two realistic candidates
Posted by lsufan3706 on 11/24/15 at 1:41 pm to tigerbutt
Jimbo is already divorce and it was Taylor Jacobs an ex-Florida Gator. Who was Mrs. Candi's personal trainer. What has Jimbo done? I know he won a title at FSU, didn't have a bad QB. The best he has ever coached. All the other's he developed other than Matt Flynn where are they? People want Raymond to stay around, have you seen the Secondary this year? and you have 2-3 NFL players. You people wonder why your in this boat!
re: Jimbo is not the answer
Posted by lsufan3706 on 11/24/15 at 1:37 pm to PortCityTiger82
I hope LSU gets Jimbo to get him out of Tallahasse. Name a QB he has developed that has done ANYTHING relevant in the NFL? If it wasn't for COOK at FSU Jimbo would be 8-3/7-4. So i hope LSU can pull it off.

re: Regarding Les and the offense
Posted by lsufan3706 on 11/23/15 at 5:28 pm to AnonymousTiger007
coming into the year LSU was a YOUNG team and no one thought they would compete for a title. But they beat Miss St and Florida and everyone jumped on the wagon and title or bust. They ended up being the team everyone thought they would be at first. They run to the strength all day and teams know the tendency's 100%.
re: Why is LSU stalling?
Posted by lsufan3706 on 11/23/15 at 5:25 pm to TigerFanatic99
I agree, why would he leave FSU? so he can come here win a bunch of games and as soon as he pisses the wrong boosters off get fired? Not like LSU is going to pay the guy Saban money anyway! IF they fire LES they might be back on track in 8 years!
re: Les' 31 Losses in Eleven Seasons... ETA Saban's 16 Losses in Five Seasons
Posted by lsufan3706 on 11/18/15 at 3:48 pm to wesman21
Don't forget Saban built and and Miles just kept it going. Only reason Miles has kept his job is because of what he took over in 07. With his own kids he didn't get past the 50!
re: Who in the hell would want the LSU OC job?
Posted by lsufan3706 on 11/16/15 at 3:45 pm to WGB2004
Honestly going into the year everyone was saying LSU was young. Since they beat Miss St, and Florida all the sudden people thought they would win the title. Let's look at it for what it's worth. The QB is horrible, if you stop #7 and make Harris beat you it can't be done. So why don't people calm down and get ready for next year.
re: Cameron and Peveto gone?
Posted by lsufan3706 on 11/16/15 at 3:38 pm to GeauxPack81
is BDP leaving going to make that much difference with the offense? He doesn't call plays on the defense either. I can remember when LES pulled Leron Landry off special teams, and Landry was pissed. Bama plays it's 5 stars on special teams LSU doesn't. If you gonna blame someone then let him use all the players not the left overs!LINK
re: [ X ] chance Peveto is in his last season?
Posted by lsufan3706 on 11/16/15 at 11:51 am to BillF
he is under contract for 1 more year after this one for & 450,000! Only a good coach when you have good players, bad coach when you have bad players. Bama has 5 star recruits running down on punt and kickoff, LSU has walk-on's big difference. Funny how Saban has offered the guy a job, But not good enough for LS and U!
re: Assuming Miles stays, release Cameron, Peveto, Steele, and Moffitt - GTFO
Posted by lsufan3706 on 11/16/15 at 11:45 am to The Mick
why Peveto? He doesn't call plays on offense or defense. He coaches linebackers and special teams. Have you seen the D-line/secondary? What about that offense? If Peveto is having that kind of effect on all those other situations then LS and U has way more problems than football. :nana: :rotflmao:
re: The Official Bradley Dale Peveto Special Teams Thread
Posted by lsufan3706 on 10/22/15 at 4:13 pm to INFIDEL
by the way in 08 Doug Mallory called the plays not BDP. He was Special Teams Coordinator and LB from 05-07 same title he has now. Joe Robinson came in when he left, JoeRob got the job because of BDP! So i'm not sure how all this is his fault. Les goes over the depth chart with him and tells him who he wants returning the ball.
