So he should be called the Maddening Hatter.

When Jamarcus was here we passed plenty, same with Mettenberger. We were not as pass heavy with Flynn, but still we passed more than lately. I cant blame him for the lack of passing with the other QB's we have had. I think Miles still doesn't trust Harris enough to let go of the reigns. He trust Fournette, and rightfully so, so he runs the crap out of the ball. Hopefully we will see the reigns loosened as the season progresses.

You don't know what 'irony' means.

How did that "stop the run" work out this past week for State?

State's run D didn't look like a "weaknesses" to you?

I;m saying it doesn't matter to les whether the front 7 is a strength or a weakness. Les wants, he needs, he must run the football if he is to draw his next breath.

it does not factor into his game-planning. he wants better players who block and tackle better. that is football.

Reins are what you control a horse with

Reigns are the periods in which kings and queens rule, for example.

Les is called the Mad Hatter because of his "mad" playcalling.

He earned that from his 2007 season and earlier. Yes he has had a call there and here, but nothing like that year.

That's not saying much. Prior to the 2000's LSU's history wasn't that great

I agree, good teams play their game. Use your strengths. I'm on-board with that.

But well-coached teams also evaluate their opponents to see what weaknesses can be exploited, on both sides of the ball. And adjust their game plan to take maximum advantage. It's not rocket science, just common sense.

Fournette had 8 carries for 51 yards in the 4th quarter. We burned over 9 minutes. Not sure "stopped" is the word I'd use to describe what MSU's defense did in the 4th.

He earned the nickname due to one season, one game in particular if I remember correctly with like 5/5 4th down conversions.

Since then, most of his "mad hatter" calls have backfired. The fake FG and onside kick against Bama being those the stick out the most. He's played it close to vest since '07. Jarrett Lee really did a number on Les Miles

That TE reverse on 4th down was pretty awesome though

That was a great play call, but it was the correct call based on how the defense lined up because they were expecting a run up the middle. The fake field goal on 4th and 12 when the defense was playing safe just seemed stubborn (not taking a timeout) and forced

More like Conservative Hatter. Or Toss Dive Hatter. I'd call him the Sane Hatter, since Sane is an antonym of Mad, but I don't think anyone would agree on him being a Sane man.

did you see the box score for the 4th quarter. we didn't score any points nor control the ball long enough to keep them from scoring.

they did indeed "stop" us from controlling the game.

I bet MSU would have like some of our 9+ minutes of possession in the 4th.
