I got insurance through the exchange this year and for the gold coverage with a family of four(myself, wife both nonsmokers and 2 kids ages 4 and 5) I paid $950 a month with Kaiser Permanente. Its great coverage
Jesus. I fricking hope it was great for $12k a year for a family that had no employer option. That's two cars or one roof over your head for 365 days out of the year.

better than or equal to anything I got through any employer.

I now work at Coors and get the same coverage for $320 a month.

We looked into Obamacare and found that the cheapest and most basic plan was almost $900 and covered nothing and had a $12,000 deductible which had to be paid before the insurance would pay anything.
Hole. E. frick. That's a lot.
But you're still enjoying that $2500.00 that Obama said he'd save you, right?

I was self employed running my own consulting business in oil and gas drilling, there was no employer. Before that I had a job with an oil company form Canada that closed its US operations so I got Cobra through them. I got a job at Coors in Golden since the oilfield has gone belly up for a lot of folks(myself included) and Coors in Colorado offers the same insurance through Kaiser that I used to have and it cost me $320 a month now. Did I type that slow enough?

Used to live there in Golden above the sub shop on Washington. Probably not there now. Everything changed fast around Denver.

Our parish donated land and built a community center that houses a doctor's office, a dentist's office, a sheriff's substation, fire station, library a rec hall, etc.
Grant money paid for a a lot of it but the parish funds parts of it as well. Some money was given by the gov't because this site will serve as a hurricane headquarters in the event of an emergency.
The doctors and dentists sign on for a 2-3 year stint and during that time they receive a stipend and housing.
But the biggest benefit is the fact that they are given student loan forgiveness. There is no shortage of doctors/dentists who would like to sign up for the these positions.

$65 a payperiod(every 2 weeks) for health
$1.80 a payperiod for vision
$9 a payperiod for dental
All through my work just for myself. My husband has all his insurance through his work as well(much cheaper that way)

The giant scam that was ObamaCare. They promised low cost but that was actually just for those that didn't have insurance. Everyone else's had to go up to pay for those folks. Welcome to wealth redistribution
The costs went up $100 a month. Copays almost doubled. The deductible went from $1500 to $3000 as soon as Obamacare plagued us.
