Miami has strong offensive and defensive line. Maybe a MLB?

Agreed. The same reason that vets on high contracts (Brandon Marshall, Anquan Boldin, evan Grubbs or Sproles) go for low picks, is that their value is lower because of their contract. On the flip side, Still'ls $600k cap hit in 2015 should only increase his value.

I guess Payton is banking on that being true.

It appears that the Saints are working on getting out of cap hell in the near future (like now). Turning around and overpaying for Stills probably isn't in the plans if they are trading him. Stills is going to be looking for a payday on his next deal. Saints are valuing assets over long term cap commitments at this time, it appears.

you are either drunk, or just that stupid. You get out of cap hell by keeping a guy like Stills. He isnt a due a new contract until 2017

Shocked there hasn't been one mention of Dion Jordan.

That's because that would be senseless.

Two seasons is a long time to be worried about that.

People people people.....Brees and the system are the reason the receivers flourish on this team. A receiver with a good skill set (hands and good route running) will put up good numbers year in and year out. If we getting picks or defense, this trade makes a ton of sense.

Heres the question I pose to everyone about these moves. What if, just maybe, Stills is average, but Brees/Payton made him better ala Meachum? What if, just maybe, Graham is an above average Tight End and Brees/Payton made him elite?

After seeing Moore and Meachum leave and be dead ends elsewhere its plausible.

That's the point I've been preaching since this madness started. Granted, starting over with someone isn't ideal, but Brees has, for the most part, made the receivers that have played here.

They have their eye on another WR somewhere in FA or the draft and they may just actually like Nick Toon.

Actually, you just can't understand the point that is being made. Read all of my posts, dumb frick. The Saints are valuing draft assets and are moving long term commitments. I argued that Stills is being moved now because he has the most value with 2 years left on his deal. The Saints will then use a draft pick from the Dolphins to get a cheap guy under contract for 3-5 years depending on the pick received.

Not a big loss at all.

This is a guy who has had THREE 100+ yard games in two years and TEN games with 30 yards receiving or less in two years.

The most receptions he's ever had in a single game was 8 and that was kind of a one time thing.

He's not bad in terms of potential, but let's not blow things out of proportion here. He was not being relied upon to carry much of the offense at all. He is easily replaced.
