I'm glad we added a LB.

But now I'll bet we won't draft one.

Ellerbe and Hawthorne will probably be the starters.

Meh.

as for Stills, I liked him but he must have pissed somebody off.

This tells me Stills was one of the cancers in the locker room.

I'm betting 2 of the first 5 picks are spent on LB's. I'd say G, WR, LB, TE, LB the last 3 being in any order depending on BPA.

The restructure only affects our cap. For the Dolphins, a cut and trade would have the same cap effect.

Sorry, I thought I read that he was restructured prior to the trade going through, which I assumed was to avoid the high dead money hit.

I think it's a pretty decent return.

man I hope your right.

I'm thinking O-line/WR at #13 or #31

then hopefully a LB in the 2nd round. I just have a bad feeling that if we get a LB, it won't be a ILB.

I'm sorry but I haven't really been impressed with Hawthorne. He doesn't suck or anything but he's just average at best in my opinion. He had the interception vs. Green Bay that was big but he also dropped one vs. Baltimore that could have been a real big play in that game.

he was okay in run defense last yearI thought. But I'm sure someone will PFF me and tell I'm an idiot.

Even if he took a paycut down to the vet minimum ($8.5m to $1m, saving $7.5m total) and they cut him anyway (saving that last $1m), the savings work out the same.

The accelerated money/dead money is from the signing bonus. All of that money was in Ellerbe's bank account within a few months after his contract was signed. It's not something that he can renegotiate/cut.
