I know there was a discussion not too long ago about Dinner Lab. Has anyone tried it? It seems their events are somewhat limited in N.O. A friend convinced me to join yesterday (he gets a credit, etc.).
Anyway, any experience or comments?

The whole experience is enjoyable. You will be sitting next to people you don't know. Be friendly.

Went once and really enjoyed. I was surprised at how smooth everything went, and the food was pretty good. I can see where eating with strangers at the table is a little weird but everyone at our table was talkative and fun.

Can you explain the whole membership thing? Does the cost to be a member cover the dinners? How often do they host?
The site is very vague...

My favorite from the Dinner Lab FAQs:
Say what?

Please try your best to arrive when you can. However, if you're late, please come in when you can and enjoy.

I went to one last Friday in the crescent city boxing gym. Enjoyable as always.

Membership costs do not include dinner prices which probably average at $60 per meal

My nephew is buddies with the guy who runs it in NOLA. I asked him for some details on the pending Baton Rouge opening and will post when I get the info.

I would love to help but I'm not a member
One of the girls we went with is and got us tickets. I know she pays a fee in addition to the tickets for the meal.

Annual membership in BR and in NO are $125.00. Then you are able to buy 2 tickets for each event which as Reg said is about $60.00 per ticket but they do vary depending on the type of event.
Alcohol is included in the ticket but I'd like to know if you can bring bottles of wine.

I don't think you can bring your own wine... They usually have plenty anyway

Ok. I just purchased my first tickets. I'm going to the Brookyln Beer event 3/24. Menu is legit!
That fricker sold out in a few hours and I had to call in a favor. Anyone else going?

I don't think it is up and running yet.
Getting my subscription in the next week or so.
I am curious about the event too. I see someone talking about an event selling out within a couple hours..
I am not looking to pay $125/year if I'll miss out of a large % of the events if I don't jump on them the minute they open them.

I saw that on the website. Is that New Orleans exclusive or does every city do the same stuff?

I'm pretty sure every city has different events, but perhaps BR will be an exception as it's basically a sister city.

Strictly as a business model, I have to believe they are going to schedule enough events to keep this from happening. Otherwise, this concept will crash and burn in 12 months. No way they are going to get renewals if people who paid $125 were never able to attend an event. No way they are dumb enough to let that happen.

They do sell out fast, but the NOLA one has enough events and additional seatings that you will be able to go to as many as you can afford to go to.
