Expected. They're not gonna play around and offer to bring him in cheaper than the top coaches.

There can't be any bigger home run hire than that. I'll take Harbaugh over Saban any day.

Why is a Notre Dame 247 site breaking news on this? That alone should tell you something about its legitimacy.

That's crazy and I think if true, no way does he turn them down. Not even for Los Angeles.

That's a lot of money for a coach. If he turns UM down they will offer the next candidate less than half of what they offered Harbaugh.

The mgoblog guy said yesterday the tea leaves were positive, but he still had an important insider saying no way it's happening.

He seems much more positive today.

suddenly $5 million for Sumlin looks like chump change.

gat damn, does Michigan really want to make it all that much harder to avoid paying players?

if a contract like goes down it will help turn the public against the schools in a big way.

Any NFL team that wants him bad enough will beat that offer.

Oakland and Chicago will need coaches.

It's gonna be so nuts when football falls off 20 years from now, and all of these schools have stadiums with 100K seats and coaches making $10 mil/ year.

That's insane. The current highest paid (and best in CFB) has 4 national titles to his name and got bumped to 7.3 million just last year so its not like Saban's salary is outdated. Making a guy who has 0 titles the highest paid coach reeks of desperation. "HAYE GAIZ look at us! look how much money we spent on our coach. We're relevant again!" How pissed will the boosters be when he's 4 years into the job, having earned $32,000,000 and he hasn't won a championship?

The biggest win Harbaugh has in his coaching career is the Orange Bowl win (I'd entertain arguments of the NFC title) and even Brady Hoke has a BCS win to his credit.

Yea but if they go cheap with the assistant coaches it will be a problem and revolving door at those hires.
