1. How was he ready 2 months ago if he isn't ready now?

2. If he isn't ready after being with the team nearly a year, isn't that the fault of the coaches?

3. Based on AJ play, how can you conclude he is ready?

My thoughts:

1. He knows the playbook....he knew it at Auburn....it's execution he needed to work on.

2. Kyle Allen played like shite in his first start then bounced back to beat Auburn. Harris should have been allowed at least two starts. Just my opinion.

3. I miss Mett.

It doesn't have to make sense. It's Les. Look at 2010 for a prime example of his ineptitude with handling QBs. Lee continually came in to play well why JJ stink it up, yet sat the bench most of the year as JJ finished the regular season with 4 TD passes as a junior starting in 20 or so games.

History tells us Harris will remain on the bench for the foreseeable future.

how many true freshman are truly reason to be the QB of a top tier SEC team at 19?

the most frustrating part for me as a fan is that Miles has given Jennings chance after chance after chance, but pulled Harris after one terrible half on the road in one of the most difficult places to play. And that was on a Saturday night, to make it even harder. To not give him another start or even play him again in a meaningful game is unacceptable, especially as horrible as Jennings has played. I kept thinking how bad we should be beating Alabama had we had any sort of good quarterback play. Against Arky, it was just flat out embarrassing. To not put him (or someone else, even if it's Kragthorpe) in there was a horrible coaching decision. Miles kept saying he owed it to the seniors this year not to plan for next year. How about what he owes to the freshman-juniors on the team? I'd sure be upset if I heard that from my coach's mouth, especially if I was defensive player. But, it's the Miles' way. He's done it since he got here. It's the price you pay for a stubborn coach who's stuck in the '80's offensively. Just be thankful he's a great recruiter and also for Chavis. Without those 2, we'd be Vandy without the grades.

Its funny how true freshman Kyle Allen can be ready at A&M in a pass happy offense, meanwhile BH isn't ready in one of the most run oriented offenses in the nation. Give Les a raise

He probably wasn't. The coaches may have wanted to see if he was a "gamer" and looked better in a game than in practice. Or they may have wanted to see if he was "more ready" than Jennings.

No. There are some occupations that take more than "nearly a year" to master for all but a very very select few. While playing QB at a major college may not be brain surgery, I'm not sure I'd like the one operating on me or the other leading my favorite team after a few months on the job.

Maybe he's not but after weighing the evidence of the "2 months ago" situation mentioned in your #1 question the coaches came to the conclusion that Jennings was "more ready". Or maybe they figured Jennings has been ruined already and throwing Harris into the fire a second time might ruin him as well if he performs like he did the first time.

He wasn't ready then

It is certainly not necessarily a debacle when a true freshman is not ready. Anyone with half a brain can see this.

He is definitely not ready.

You seem to be a black and whit thinker and are making several poor assumptions.

Newsflash, we don't have a guy who is ready. AJ sucking says nothing about whether Harris is ready.

The best argument for Harris is that his development will benefit with snaps and the entire focus should be on his development so that we reap the benefits of that NEXT year.

Here is how that decision went down.

Cam: les, you know, Brandon looked pretty good last night against NMSU. Maybe we should start him at AU

Les: meh, why not, he can't do worse

Fast forward one week

Les: I was wrong.

I still think Harris should start against the Aggies.

4. We've only scored 2 touchdowns in the last 12 quarters of play. How can CLM continue to say AJ gives us our best chance at victory?

All the right questions, but we will never get the answers (right or wrong).

I've only missed watching 1 LSU conference game over the last 20 years due to being in a friend's wedding, but I'm so fed up with this BS that I don't plan on even watching the aTm game Thursday. There have been plenty of chances to at least get BH in a game to take snaps since Auburn. We might be up or down by 3+ scores and he still won't get any playing time. Mark it down. To not let him even play is stubborn to the point of being downright idiotic. Here's to going 7-6 when we might have gone 10-3 or 11-2 if we had just given BH a decent shot..and Auburn wasn't a decent shot. AJ looked just as bad vs New Mexico St anyway.

Miles has not successfully recruited and developed one high school QB. That's our problem in a nutshell.

I was hopeful Harris would end that record. Maybe he will, but I'm less confident after what I saw this year.

Don't fully understand all the reasons why, but it's killing us.

I agree with most of your points, but I'll see if I can play devil's advocate here

he wasn't actually. But had to be tested. He failed said test. I actually do think this, btw.

This I agree with. I do think that it's a lot to expect for the staff to develop a good QB in his first year, but also can't fathom how we are in this situation in the first place.

3. Based on AJ play, how can you conclude he is ready?

Amen brother.

I really dont care who starts the game for LSU. I think most people understand Harris needed to come out of the Auburn game. I dont think he should be annointed as the starter without proving a little more on the field. What infuriates me, and I think most is the zero meaningful game snaps Harris has received since that game. There is simply no reason not give a couple of series to Harris in each of our last few games. I am afraid that by not playing Harris, Les has decided Jennings is his guy and will be for the future. This situation really does have the JJ/JL feel to it.

I think Miles has been very vendictive towards the B Harris situation. Maybe, initially AJ had the edge at the start of the season, but clearly things changed. Miles is stubborn, and when the crowd boo'd his decision to play AJ when his performance was well under par, he threw B Harris to the tigers in Auburn knowing that, without a running game in a hostile environment, the odds was significantly against him. Miles way of "take this" to those who boo'd my decisions. The season was written off with the loss to bama. There is NO excuse why Harris should not start the next 2 games. NO more BS post game press conferences.. If you were the coach, had just over 100 yards of offense through 3 quarters of play, wouldn't you have tried something or anything to try to win? Or does 4 mil/year make you complacent, win or lose.!
