re: Joe Alleva on the clock

the thing most people are forgetting is Aleva and Orgeron are tied at the hip. The way I see it, Aleva's success is tied to Orgeron being successful because he hired him instead of someone more flashy, F-King's meddling aside. I truly believe that's why he stepped up for Aranda. If it was otherwise, we'd have seen the same ol' Joe and Aranda would be diagramming Jimbo's defense at A$M. If O falls flat on his face here, Aleva will be seen as a failure as well and held accountable for it. With all that said, I don't think Aleva wants or trusts O when he says he can make it work with Ensminger. And I can't blame him. On paper, there are better options out there. If they do this, O HAS to be right or they both could be out of a job.
whatever side people are on, there's one indisputable fact -- the program is getting hurt by all this crap and that falls on Alleva and Orgeron
Agree. I watched a lot of Nebraska games. Dudes legit with a great arm. His o-line was awful, way worse than ours at the beginning of the year. Not saying he would or should automatically start here, but to say he's not good would be flat out wrong
well, that sounds very familiar --- like maybe from a year ago.....and the year before that
anybody know why I don't have a "comments" section on NOLA.com for Jimmy's chat today? Is there something I have to click? I am signed in.
I gotta say, I love this show. From the theme song (which I originally hated and now love) to the show not being afraid to kill people off who I figured wouldn't die for a while is great. I hope they keep the momentum up. Although the topic is far-fetched, it still is really good. This past episode, much like most of them, left me speechless at the wedding. And the internal problems with the Farrells are as much or more interesting than the problems they have with the town. Great show. One of my favorites!

I saw the chic that plays Lagertha is going to be on a CBS show (the one with the guy who played Ben on Lost). Is she getting whacked???
then why read his articles? Nobody forces anyone to read his articles. If it works you up so much, then go somewhere else for information.

I ready his stuff and sure he misses on guys. But, it doesn't get me mad at him when he's wrong. I'm disappointed, but I don't hold him personally responsible for missing on guys. He's a writer asked for his opinion and he gives it.
maybe, but why does he not get another shot? Jennings played as bad against Arky, yet, no chance of seeing anybody else. If Jennings has been playing lights-out football up to that point, I can see not having him relinquish the job. But, his performance this year has not been good.
I see your point of view, but then maybe the approach is wrong. Nobody can say whether Harris is ready or not because he hasn't played more than one half of meaningful football. Some guys just aren't practice players and need real game action to get better.
I bet A&M fans are sure happy Sumlin didn't quit throwing Allen out there after his egg he laid against Monroe. He sure didn't get ruined.
that's what I don't get. How can they say he wouldn't have showed at least a little progress in the 2nd half against Auburn or against Florida? It was his first collegiate start and then he gets benched after one half. Yet, Jennings can play like he has and continues to play.
Amen, brother. Just look at Barrett at Ohio State. He sucked his first game, but CUM didn't bench him. Now, he's not only performing well, but OSU is in great position for next year.

After the MSU game, I remember looking to my wife and saying they need to play Harris and get him ready for the later season juggernaut and for next year. Instead, Miles inexplicably puts Jennings in and keeps Harris on the sidelines, even when LSU is blowing out Kentucky. Terrible decision.
the most frustrating part for me as a fan is that Miles has given Jennings chance after chance after chance, but pulled Harris after one terrible half on the road in one of the most difficult places to play. And that was on a Saturday night, to make it even harder. To not give him another start or even play him again in a meaningful game is unacceptable, especially as horrible as Jennings has played. I kept thinking how bad we should be beating Alabama had we had any sort of good quarterback play. Against Arky, it was just flat out embarrassing. To not put him (or someone else, even if it's Kragthorpe) in there was a horrible coaching decision. Miles kept saying he owed it to the seniors this year not to plan for next year. How about what he owes to the freshman-juniors on the team? I'd sure be upset if I heard that from my coach's mouth, especially if I was defensive player. But, it's the Miles' way. He's done it since he got here. It's the price you pay for a stubborn coach who's stuck in the '80's offensively. Just be thankful he's a great recruiter and also for Chavis. Without those 2, we'd be Vandy without the grades.
Life Below Zero on Nat. Geo is really good. These are some tough people living near or above the arctic circle.
I thought he was pretty solid to LSU. Did anything change or is he just doing his due process?
too bad more people don't watch the show. It's really good and one of my favorites. Last night, I didn't see Angelo's whacking. I thought Chiklis was a goner
agreed. Long way to signing day, but guys have to be impressed by the environment
