Info on Harris and Jennings

At the ULL game last weekend, I happened to be sitting behind one of the backup LSU guards. Not giving his name so don't ask. Had a very nice talk with him about Tiger Stadium, Les, the other coaches and players.
He loves him some Jamal Adams btw. Can't wait to watch him grow.
Sad for D Thomas.
Fournette is a grown man (we know)
Coach Miles is like a father.
Still upset about the 2011 defense up and leaving.
Harris vs Jennings: Harris can throw it the entire field and is super talented (we all know this) but he doesn't put in the work that AJ does in the film room. He said not a day goes by that he's not in the film room or working with WR's. I told him that it wasn't showing and he just kind of put his head down and said "I know. It's frustrating at times but we're still so young you know?" I basically asked if Miles showed favoritism and he said "not at all. He wants them to compete every week and get better. Jennings has great practices and just never leaves the film room. He's trying to be a student of the game, but Harris is on his heels."
Believe me or not.
Those weren't the answers about the QB position I wanted to hear. Hopefully Jennings can figure it out or Harris grows just a little more and takes it from him. I'd prefer the latter.

I could definitely believe this. If Harris busts arse this offseason he will start. Les doesn't want his QB to suck despite what a lot of people say

When I want Predator killed, I don't call an intelligence analyst out of the office to get the job done.
I call Arnold fricking Schwarzzennegger.
Period.

More often than not, Harris has looked very lost this season.

Uhh, aside from the Auburn game, what leads you to believe this? He hasn't been in any games to look lost in.

You either didn't say this or the converstion would have been over.

Terrible analogy, but I feel the same way.

Pretty much a pattern with Miles and our back up young QBs. We could be up 28 or 35 points in the 3rd quarter but the back up never sees the field until sometime in the 4th when we are up by 40 + points.
Terrible job developing QBs - terrible and there is a decade of this pattern

What are they doing then, just practicing how to down field block and how to hand off the ball?
I hate to sound like a bitch, but its so frustrating when he looks like he has no idea what is going on and just stares down his receivers like he does.

When Harris looked like he didn't know what he was supposed to do when he fumbled snaps, turned the wrong way on multiple plays in different games. Try watching the games.
And what is wrong with talking about his Auburn performance? He started and shat the bed.

If this is true (and I tend to believe it), then Jennings reminds me of my college roommate.
My roommate took basic Algebra (1021) his first semester and was failing it so bad at midterm that he dropped it.
The next semester he asked me if I could tutor him. I agreed to. I had helped some high school classmates with Calculus (1550) the first semester and they all did fine. It took me about 2-3 tutoring sessions to realize that the kid just was incapable of getting it. He just didn't "see" the obvious -- things you just can't teach. He put in an unGodly amount of time into the course. We not only went through ever problem in his textbook, but we also went through tons of problems in a commercial outline. But it just didn't matter. I kept tutoring him, but to no avail. He eventually failed the class.
Sophomore year he hired a professional tutor. As I suspected, it did no good.
The kid took 1021 a total of 5 times before he just gave up and transferred to a community college.
Maybe it's time for Jennings to transfer to a community college. He clearly doesn't get it and never will. If Les can't see that by now (especially with all the sh!t we went through with Jordan Jefferson), he never will either.

I know some coaches who are currently at LSU and some who were there when JJ was the QB. Coach ?? kept trying to get JJ in the film room to no avail. He says JJ had NFL ability but wouldn't put in the work to get better and grow. Let's hope that BH isn't this type of player. There are tons of guys who have God-given talent but don't enhance it with good hard work and effort.
Somehow I think this is going to work itself out just fine.
I do know one thing. I can't take much more of Bama beating LSU year after year...

More often than not, Harris has outplayed Jennings this season.
The Auburn game was one game. The Wisconsin game was one series where both guys looked awful.
Aside from that, Harris had lead LSU to what? like 10 straight TD drives, while Jennings looked horrific versus inferior competition. It's sad to see LSU settle with such inferior QB play just because they win regardless of QB play.. so they settle up on that and play scared when it comes to passing the football. I would love to see LSU play confident on offense and able to strike quick if ever needed to overcome a possible turnover..

Jennings started against NMST and played worse than Harris at Auburn, think about that.

it sounds like Jennings has better work ethic on and off the field, but Harris is more talented.
that sounds about right.

How about, "In the games he's been in, including a horrible series against Wisconsin and the game against Auburn, he's appeared to be lost." like that better?

AJ busts his butt and still does not have it. Yet CLM plays him because he puts in the work.
While I appreciate his effort, the better player, not the hardest working one should be playing.
