Good for you

Doesn't mean it's the only way to handle it

I don't know the neighbor, maybe he is trashy and suspicious but it's amazing that everyone automatically takes the dogs side when they dont know shite about what happened

Unfortunately the neighbor is the only witness

Exactly. This redneck likely left his kid and his dog in the yard while he went to choose the best weapon to kill a family pet.

To people. They hate other dogs. Tell her to give the man a blowjob for doing the dog loving world a favor.

Looked like a shotgun wound.

which means he probably wasn't just holding on to it in his front yard if he was able to claim he didn't have any guns. so he would have had to go back inside to get the gun to shoot the dog, at that point why wouldn't he have just brought his kid and dog inside with him?

Who the frick shoots an Australian shepherd? Those are some of the least-aggressive dogs on the planet.

Someone needs to beat this a-hole within an inch of his life.

You think the guy shot the dog for no reason at all?

Well unless he sits on his front porch with a loaded twelve gauge then yes he did. He had time to go inside with his dog and child to retrieve his shotgun then return outside to shoot the dog. He's a piece of shite.

Growling doesn't equate to an actual attack or threat. That's like someone starting a fight just because someone said something that was offensive to the other individual.

I've dealt with aggressive dogs before, both on and off private property, and I have never had to resort to shooting the animal.

The presence of the child does make a difference, but there are less rash ways of dealing with such a situation.

I did not think it was illegal to kill any non-endangered non-human animal, correct?

Yeah.

if a dog is growing at my kid I don't run away and go get my gun. I get my kid away from the dog, or I get between my kid and the dog.

Good grief, how obvious does it have to be?

You might come out ahead in all of this. Now your Christmas shopping just got easy. Get her a puppy. Bitches love puppies.

To your OP,
The dog should have been restrained and spayed or neutered. Fact.

Maybe this isn't the first time the dog has been in his yard and threatened his kid. He may have decided it was enough

What if he gave the dog a pass and the next time he wasn't outside and his kid got bit?

Either do something about it or quit bitching. Clocks runnin'.

Go talk to the guy and see what he says, if he legitimately seems to have been worried, then teach your GF to control her animals. If he laughs it off or tells you another bullshite story beat his arse and drag him to your property and say he attacked you. Have some of the people in the neighborhood who hate him verify your story.

What you DON'T do is go on a website looking for advice. Be a man.
