Nope. He definitely wasn't happy with at least one of the coaches. And apparently wasn't getting along great with the other pitchers/players.

A guaranteed weekend spot? He has to be here for three years a weekend spot now dosnt mean shite. Look at Ronado he had one year as a full time starter and was a first round pick.

Something tells me he never wanted to go to college and once he got here he didn't want to make the commitment.

Now that he is at Mosquito Creek JC, I hope he loses all the leverage he would have had in the draft had he stayed at LSU.

I hope he's stuck with a low ball offer with nowhere else to turn. Let the MLB clubs turn the tables on him.

And Bugg, Poche w/ Reynolds and Newman back. We'll be okay. I've settled down from the initial shock.

Who knows maybe the kid just realized he didn't want to be here for 3 years? I'm surprised no one has come along yet to blame this on Mainieri.

I guess you don't understand the simple concept of leverage? Fact of the matter is, a high school kid has more leverage going to a junior college than he does when he enrolls at a 4 year school because he only has a 1 year commitment instead of 3 years. 30+ years ago they had even more leverage because there was a January draft and JC player could be drafted in that draft as well as the June draft. I played in HS with a guy that didn't get drafted out of HS. He went to JC (and coincidentally played for PM's father) and proceeded to get drafted 4 times the next 2 years. He ended up going to UNO and getting drafted for a 5th time and signing after his junior year. I also played with a guy that was the #5 overall pick out of HS and he turned down $75,000. He signed with my JC, played the fall season, got drafted #1 overall in January and got the $100,000 he was asking for 6 months earlier and never played an official college game.

If Marshall gets drafted again next June he has the leverage of only having to commit for another year.

I doubt he seriously ever wanted to be here and he got really screwed over by the Asstros' fk up. Karma 's a bitch Mr. Marshall, sure hope you don't blowout your arm.

yeah, honestly this guy screwed us much harder than gunner kiel did

I do not agree. Gunner Kiel cost us Patrick Miller who is the starting right tackle for Auburn. To make room for Kiel to enroll early we asked Miller, who was all set to enroll early, to wait a semester or pay his own way in the spring. Miller's father was pissed and Patrick very quickly switched to Auburn and enrolled early there.

Now that MM is off the team I can tell what happened with him at the Coaches Committee meeting two weeks ago when all the new players were introduced.

Marshall and two other players were excused to leave about 15 minutes into the meeting after they went first to be introduced. Mainieri said they needed to leave early because they had a "tutoring session" scheduled.

All of the other new players stayed until the end of the meeting.

Take it fwiw......
