Personally, I really dislike when height is equated to durability. There are measurables that correlate to durability, but height is not one of them. If height is the only thing that causes the statement "he's not a ________ back" (D1, SEC, LSU, etc) it needs to be rethought.
The RB's that LSU is already pursuing are going to be tough to top though.

Film looks good. Only thing negative I saw is he would get ahead of blockers on screen plays before catching the ball. He definitely looks like one that could earn a camp offer.

188 is small for our offense

We probably won't offer him because he's got a pierced navel. That can be dangerous on a football field.

out lightest back with any chance to see snaps this year is Darrel Williams at 210. I would like to see a scat back at 185-200 in our system do some damage

quote:agreed. I keep thinking Ryan Switzer, even though technically he is a WR, type play. Just utilized out of the backfield.

Anybody got any stats for the 2 guys below? Don't know much about these guys but they clearly couldn't play for a team like LSU or in the SEC, just too short.
Emmit Smith - 5'-8"
Barry Sanders - 5'-9"

Now just make a list of the other million or so guys under 5'10" that had zero impact at RB beyond high school.

I was only speaking to height and durability. Not skill, productivity, or snaps.

I'm really sad that he DE committed from Tulane. Would be a stud there.

Yeah but you could do they same for others over 5'10 too. I mean Darren Sproles, Ray Rice, Zac Stacy, Mike Davis, MJD, Duke Johnson, Ameer Abdullah, Giovanni Benard, Andre Ellington, Frank Gore, Trent Richardson, are all having great careers beyond high school. hell I could keep going but really, you should have worded that response differently.
Non productive players come in all shapes and sizes. So do busts.

i agree 100 % kid really can play .it's a gamble

What good defenses has he done well against?
Posted on 5/5/14 at 8:07 pm to muddbone
There are some players that get offered early because of size, speed, etc along with great tape and sometimes in person views of games. But many more athletes have to camp in order to get official offers so the coaches can evaluate them in person. Hopefully he doesn't have your attitude.

Well thats kind of the point. A school like LSU is not going to take a gamble at the RB position when there are guys that are, less of a gamble due to size/level of competition already on their shortlist.

j brazil was a gamble. what was he a rb a db . i didn't think neither just a good HS player @ 3@ . world class speed should have run track @lsu

Man, shut the frick up...
well its pretty much true. LSU can usually almost always find a more prototypically built player at the same position.
Doesn't always mean they are better though.
