Holy crap I'm getting old!! I remember his dad from HS, he was a huge RB. I was a sophomore at Brother Martin and those Shaw teams were legit. His momma must've been short, cause Kendal was huge. Or maybe I was small:). I do remember him, Murray White & few other Shaw guys were starting shite at the old Friar Tucks on Claiborne. Ah the good ol days.

One of if not the best running backs ever to come out of Louisiana was Marshal Faulk and if I'm not mistaken he is less than 5'10". Nick offered him as a db and we know that rest of the story. Recruiting is not an exact science.

Yeah. He made the offer while he was DBs coach for the Houston Oilers. He wanted him to suit up for him right away.

I saw the NFL network thing on him, and his HS film looked pretty ridiculous, but so do most NFL players film.

Curtis Johnson saw an in with a local kid and offered him an opportunity no one else was. It's the same kind of thing that happens all the time with smaller programs being able to take more chances on players like that. This one just happened to pay off bigger than most.

Faulk had offers from every school in the country.... To play CB.

San Diego St was the only school that offered him as a RB.

I do remember hearing Tierney talk about that little db for carver that was the best player on the field after his team beatem 50 something to not so much... and he had 11-12 d1 signees on his team that year....

Well I stand corrected. Faulk had 4 TDs. In that game

Sorry, I was wrong about our coach that missed out on Faulk but my point was that recruiting is not an exact science. Many coaches in the SEC missed out on him, it hurts but it happens. Let's just hope we don't miss out on many.

Bruh if Trindon Holiday barely touched the field and he was a 5'6-5'7 world class sprinter...guess what

I heard LSU moved away from the small backs. the reason being that they can be separated from the ball too easily because of small hands.

Yeah hindsight is 20/20 and I think coaches are a lot more keyed in on how much an athlete has developed already vs what they can turn them into than they have been in the past. Also, coaches recruit team needs, not just the best players, so sometimes studs get left out because you can't recruit 3 quarterbacks every year.
