I'm here in DFW and think it could sustain the collapse. I think California is fricked.

Zombies, world war, or Yellowstone blowing?
It would depend on one of those.

A lot of the doomers drool over New Zealand, but it's apparently a pain in the arse to get in there. I would think remote Northern California or Oregon would be pretty solid, until they get overrun by Southern Californians.

california (and many other places out west) will have some major issues simply due to access to fresh water
i wouldn't want to be in any major urban area when things break down

Congress. Those guys and their dependents are bullet-proof.

I'm talking collapse of the USA. Zombie talk would be done on the OT. My neighborhood already has a wall around it that could be fortified for defense. We have 3 entrances and could block two off if necessary.

Hope the neighborhood is full of family members only.
The less people around me the better in these things. People will become crazy in these types of scenarios.

After watching the original Red Dawn, I am convinced Colorado could work.
Forget about NYC

New Iberia. They're always 10 years behind any societal movement. So, if the US collapses in 2020 then New Iberia won't feel it till 2030.

I love how that fat tub of goo was preparing for doomsday yet living off of disability

DFW is where we have set our sights on in case we have an extended amount of time to prepare, but that is obviously a best case scenario. It would be on the outskirts though; being in a city is a very bad idea. Otherwise it seems like the next best idea is outlying farmland or forest where you are already at. Roads will be shut down, plus main thoroughfares will be clogged with cars that have run out of gas or have been abandoned.

I'm amazed at how many people sit around day dreaming at best, planning at worst, about the eventual collapse of the US.

I'm amazed at the number of people who never prepare for calamities such as natural disasters. Apparently these people have no concept of just how thin civilization really is.

Nothing wrong with preparing for natural disasters.

Someone did a report on this not long ago, I can't remember the specific area, but it was in the Idaho region.
