Let me first say that South Park can have an occasional brilliant episode, and I think the 2008, 2009, and 2012 seasons have some of the best episodes, but the show has noticeably declined in the last 10 years.

I think it began with 2005, their best season and the one they won the Peabody for. But that Katrina episode ruined the fun of watching what current event they were going to skewer next. Everybody knew they would do an episode on Katrina so it kind of it took some of the surprise element out of it.

Since 2006, I can count maybe a dozen or so truly quality shows: Make Love Not Warcraft, Go God Go, More Crap, Over Logging, The China Probrem, Margaritaville, You're Getting Old, Reverse Cowgirl, Butterballs, Cash for Gold, A Scause for Applause, A Nightmare on FaceTime, and the Black Friday trilogy.

Now, that I think about it, 2012 was a great season. But this last season felt lacking.

Imaginationland???

I can't take anything you have said seriously if you do not consider Imaginationland a top episode in the last 10yrs.

I do think that pumping out a show in 2-3 days has hurt it's quality.

Personally, I think last season was one of their best. Can't think of a real stinker among them.

of course, most shows peak early and then keep going if they CAN. SouthPark has stayed relevant for a long time. The newest season wasn't that good, but they still make good TV.

I stopped when they first had the Coon. It was already pretty bad at that point but those episodes were just so boring I couldn't take it anymore.

2010 alone had Sexual Healing, Scrotie McBoogerballs, Medicinal Fried Chicken, You have 0 Friends, Crippled Summer, Poor and Stupid, It's a Jersey Thing, and Creme Fraiche

2011 has HumancentIpad and Funnybot

Not every episode is a riot, and some are complete wastes and merely unwatchable (royal wedding and thankgiving episodes) but to say that every has sucked since 2005 is pretty lame

I agree 100% OP

I mean there are still good episodes, but consistently hilarious? No, it's been a while since they were that. I think 2008 (season 11) was the year it stopped being like the best show on TV to just being an alright show.

I honestly just stopped watching after 2-3 episodes this season. Not sure I'll ever continue watching again really. I don't think Matt and Trey's heart is even in it anymore. The quality drops more every season.

Does not exist.

Maybe your relation to South Park has changed (or your socio-political views).

They've only become smarter at what they do, maybe even too smart. I will say their dud episodes are more DUD-like, (read worse), and that's often because they are reaching too far. But their best episodes are still top tier television.

Complete myth.

The last 10 years more focused on current events has made it a better show. It is an intelligent humor despite how vile the show is. The "misses" are few and far between.

You have got to be kidding. The show has evolved to the next level of humor. They can't do fart jokes and anal probes for 17 seasons. Their take on current events is damn near flawless.
