So you think Saban has never lied to recruits that are not yet on campus?
About whether he would be the coach at signing day? Nope

That is one HUGE indicator...if they truly have a contract in place with Saban, why is Brown still the coach...fire him...he should have been fired the second he arrived in Austin after losing to Baylor if this "has been done for months". I think it is far more likely Brown is the Texas coach next season THAN ANY OTHER SUPPOSED candidate mentioned...let alone Saban.
I don't know either way, but I know you have to be the most impatient poster following this if you think this was going to happen today.
I mean, really???
Texas hasn't had the end of the year football banquet. Saban has the Heisman ceremony.
Mack not only has been there 16 years, but he won a NC and loss in another title game. His team just lost in a game that would have given him the conference title.
I'm sure those who want to see a change, still want the man to leave on his terms, they just want it to be now, due to the opportunity to get Saban. Saban is not going to force him out, and he probably knows that. So, he's making it very difficult for them.
I actually think it's possible, not probable, that Mack is a bigger problem for Texas than Saban would be.

there are idiots in this world that believe in bigfoot... no one with common sense thought this would happen.
I never believed in bigfoot, but I still believe there's an excellent chance this happens. It wouldn't surprise me either way.

I happen to know he's not going to Texas.
Your 5,000 posts on the CC board this week says otherwise.

In that case I'd contact anyone from his last recruiting class at LSU and see what they think about the subject.

Keep the faith, homey! Saban is a man of integrity and honor. I've said it since these ridiculous rumors started!

Is this the backtracking pussying out thread?

Way to many factors to bet he'll return. 1) Impending NCAA infractions
Hasn't been the slightest peep about this anywhere. Clinton Dix came back after a short suspension so that's an all clear. Technically, the Fluker situation could pose a bit of a problem but the only documentation of actual agent payment was a small cash payment prior to last year's national title game. I suppose the NCAA could vacate last year's national title and give out a slap on the wrist like they did to Ohio State but that's about the worst that would come from what has been documented. Any scholly penalty at this point would be very light so that's not going to be a factor. Death threats? Could just as easily have been rival fans sending tweets posing as Alabama fans to make the fanbase look as bad as possible. The athletic department turned over all the tweets so those sending them could be identified. In other words, the AD was proactive in standing up for their student athlete.

Do you remember that class...there were like 8 recruits committed when he left. Miles has to scramble like hell to get anyone...and ironically took Ryan "Booger Sugar" Perrilloux from Texas at the last minute to land a Top 20 class.
Saban has 24 committed right now and is likely to land the best recruiting class in the history of recruiting class rankings...by far.

so he called all the guys he had committments from when he left LSU?

but with each passing day, it certainly makes it all the more apparent that Saban is not leaving Bama.
All of the Texas insiders said that nothing would happen until next week, so the expected timeline is still on schedule. Nothing has changed to make it less likely. If by the end of next week Saban isn't the Texas coach, then it probably won't happen.

That is ridiculous. His current contract already spells out how he would be compensated if he is terminated
Problem is they don't want to terminate him. Brown still has some high level backers.
Lots of speculation is that while Mack is resigning, they are negotiating a package for him to resign and not be fired. They really don't want to fire him. His compensation for being fired is set by contract. Compensation for being forced to resign is not.
Mack being fired or resigning and the Saban pursuit are running parallel and are not together. Mack is out and Texass is going to have a new coach. These 2 things are going to happen independently.

6) Less time on the road recruiting. UT recruitment ends months before everyone else

Come again...the "insiders" were saying Thursday at the latest earlier this week after the Board of Regents meeting.
